GOPTP Budget

The federal budget is for funding the government not a tool to defund agencies and changing laws. But the GOPTP has found a way to exactly that.

I don't understand the GOPTP changing back to allow big banks to trade derivatives and there risk is covered by the tax payers. The TP started years ago over high spending and why does the tax payer have to bail out the big banks. Why no outrage by the TP bloggers on OPP.

Then further the ability for these wealthy corporate elite to donate and buy the GOPTP legislators by increasing there personnel donations from $32,000 to $342,000. Where is the TP outrage.

Where is the TP outrage with Citibank writing policy changes into a budget with no committee meetings no debate just take a Citibank written policy change and stick it in a budget bill.

Where is the TP outrage when you know that Bush took $750 billion to bail out the banks for the exact policy with these derivatives that caused the financial market and Wall Street to collapse. But the GOPTP likes to hide there dirty little agenda and then spread propaganda to justify. By blaming Obama

Let's just show the danger of derivatives. Let's say you exercise buying a forward contract for $1,000 in which you agree to assume the obligation to buy 1,000 shares of stock for $20 in six months. If the market shares rise to $25 you just made $5,000. But if the market goes down and the shares drop you are still obligated to pay $20 per share. This is what happened 2008 with the housing market collapse because the banks owned hundreds of billions of these derivatives whose value ultimately depended on homeowners making there mortgage payments they could not afford. So crash and burn and the American tax payer picked up the tab. So the GOPTP answer to this problem let's go back to the same policy. They love there corporate elite.

Now as a said this is a budget not to be used to change policy or laws. It's to fund the government. So the GOPTP inserts policy change that blocks funds to redefine the meaning of fill material this gives the mining industry the ability to dump waste in valleys and streams.

More policy change to bar the import export banks from withholding funds from coal -fired power plants who do not cut greenhouse gases.

Also cut $60 million from the EPA and removes the department of interior from designating endangered species. This gives the oil, gas companies more federal land to drill and dump there waste.

Another move the GOPTP wanted to cut the corporate tax rate from 35% to 25% with the intent to reform the existing tax code by removing various tax credits and exemptions but the GOPTP would not specify what it was. I believe this has been removed.

This budget bill was also used as a tool that would repeal the subsidized insurance exchanges and the Medicaid expansion that make up the core of the ACA. Then convert Medicare into a system for private insurance financed by Federal Vouchers I believed that got removed.

They have decreased pension plans. Cut food stamps cuts to school lunches and many others. This is a disgrace to use a budget bill to accomplish this garbage. Because how many people actually look at a budget. They used it as a tool to create water pollution, air pollution, Wall Street gambling, throw 25 million people off healthcare, tax breaks for the wealthy, deregulate the oil, gas and coal, and starve the kids and the poor.

I just pulled out a few policy changes in a budget just to show the TP the actual GOPTP agenda you have to read this thing. There was nothing in it for any policy change that might help the middle class

That's the GOPTP, can't you see what they are doing

I want comments from the real TP not the insult machine. Is this the real TP. I was a TP person because it pissed me off that the federal government bailed out anybody. It pisses me off that everything the GOPTP does as far as policy is corporate tax breaks. I have done a lot of research on the GOP and have found hidden agenda that absolutely makes me sick. How they have spent and spent with no oversight. I will be posting tonight the research on the amount of money that Reagan/Bush/Bush robbed from SS. Please watch for it.

td-what do you think the power of the purse means ? If I remember correctly the bank bailout was approved by congress, within the law, and was not a unilateral action by Bush. Conversely Amnesty was a unilateral action by your idol and possibly outside the law. Time will tell. The financial mess was a result of two democrats Frank/Dodd insisting that both Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac were in good shape and did not need any attention. Bush tried at least eight times to get a review of both agencies and was thwarted by the two culprits mentioned above. That was when people were approved for a home mortgages regardless of income as long as they had a pulse. That started under Clinton when the all- caring democrats felt that everyone deserved a home whether they could afford one or not. To compound the problem these shaky mortgages were bundled and sold to banks as mortgage back securities. So the house of cards came tumbling down because of dereliction of duty by two people who should be in jail along with their co-conspirators. Good Luck America !!!
