Where is an Asian student in your meme? The ending of Affirmative Action in college admissions in the Harvard case was brought on by an Asian student. Meritocracy can be achieved by any race. Lowering the standards for one race and raising the standards for another is not equitable. Not everyone is the best candidate for a 4-year college education. There are alternatives such as technical schools available that offer plumbing, carpentry, automotive repair, LPN and cosmetology.

That's they way it should be. If a black student has any of the sk**ls you outline in your tome, by all means get them admitted. It was absolutely stupid and foolish to base admissions on the color of one's skin. PERIOD.

Maybe more b****s will start to study harder in high school to get into college since their color will not be taken into account. It's about time. If they can't cut the mustard, let them do something else.

Shoot, I don't mind if programs are setup to help tutor black students in high school or in any academic endeavor whatsoever as long as it's open to anyone. Most likely others wouldn't come but if they did and partook of the mentoring, they likely would have developed friendships that might have been lifelong.

Imagine white kids developing admiration for a black teacher/tutor, interacting and developing camaraderie with black kids. Heck, the world would be a better place for it.

A little of that happened when I went through my education in the 70's but there was too much resentment of the "affirmative" action thing. To know someone might be there because of color and not merit, left a bad taste in a student's psyche.

I didn't care what race a professor was, if they were a heck of a great teacher I didn't care. I had a college calculus Phd professor who happened to be a Benedictine priest. He also was 1st generation Chinese with a heavy accent.
First day he said, "Ohhhh I have heavy accent, but you'll get used to it." He was right. All the profs at my school kept office hours and any student could walk in to ask questions. Father Tsi was no exception to provide guidance if we got stuck on a math problem. Kurt
