At that age they are princesses. Then they grow into teenagers. I will say no more about that.

You got 7 or 8 good years. My older daughter was good, but when the younger one hit 12 it wasn't good for the next decade. The older one took after me, the younger one took after her mother. The only comfort I got was watching the younger one fight with her mother. Funny as hell. Like personalities repel one another like magnets.

And, here's the Archie in me. I think like many others, this holiday has been bastardized into blowing up Chinese fireworks, instead of celebrating the nation's independence.

The fireworks terrify my dogs, and it sounds like a war is going on from where I sit.

But, an amazing full moon is coming up between the TV towers over there.
