The Train

The following is beautiful and was honored to receive it from my Uncle Jim in Jacksonville, Florida. I wish to pass it on to all my friends and associates on the OPP. I do not know if he wrote it, or someone else. It does not matter.

At birth, we board the train and meet our parents, believing they will always travel at our side. However, at some station our parents will step down from the train, leaving us on this journey alone. As time goes by, other people will board the train, and they will be significant...i.e., our siblings, friends, children, and even the love of your life. Many will step down and leave a permanent vacuum. Others will go so unnoticed that we won't realize they vacated their seats. This train ride will be full of joy, sorrow, fantasy, expectations, hellos, goodbyes and farewells. Success consists of having a good relationship with all passengers requiring that we give the best of ourselves.

The mystery to everyone is: We do not know at which station we ourselves will step down. So, we must live in the best way, love, forgive, and offer the best of who we are. It is important to do this because when the time comes for us to step down and leave our seat empty, we should leave behind beautiful memories for those who will continue to travel on the train of life.

I wish you a joyful journey on the train of life. Reap success and give lots of love. More importantly, be thankful for the journey.

Lastly, thanks to all onboard for being passengers on this train of mine.

P-R, during this train ride, there are those who bring some degree of light into one's life. Those are the chance encounters that make the ride a memorable and pleasant experience .

There are also those who bring darkness and make us dubious regarding the ticket price.

I have encountered both types of passengers here on OPP. Though we may disagree on some matters, I count you among those who often bring the light.

Thanks,Slate.. I feel like this about you too.. But I also think that there are much more passengers on OPP who bring light than darkness.

I also heard a train story: a train engineer took his son to work! When it came to flip the switch for the trains to switch tracks he noticed his son was in the way and woyld be crushed if he did that! He had to decide if he flip the switch to k**l his son or save the thousands of people on the train! He had to save the people! As his son died he watched as the people in the windows didn’t notice the sacrifice of his son for their lives and went on as if nothing happened! Now , picture how God felt!
