Today the Biden administration launched its “Investing in America” tour with the announcement of a $40 billion investment to make sure everyone in the United States has access to affordable, reliable high-speed internet by the end of the decade.

Even the Representatives that v**ed against it will be taking credit for the money coming to their states.

I live in a small town hundreds of miles from any large city. We have had reliable internet for two decades. It keeps getting better and faster. We can stream, download, use wifi, and a bunch of other goodies that I do not bother with. We get all this for less than $80 a month, and it is VERY reliable.
So, where exactly is it that this $40 Billion will be spent, and how many people will it REALLY help significantly? How many union retirement funds will it support? How many trips, conventions, and 'working' vacations will it provide for the officials and politicians involved? How many fiber/feet will be put into the ground as a result of this bill? I would like to know, since me and my kids, and THEIR kids will all be paying for it.
Not that I am necessarily opposed to it.....but when FDR did his electrification thing, what was the Constitutional justification for stealing from the many to spend it helping the few? I am all for charity, you understand, I just prefer to have a choice in the matter.

If every town was as well serviced as yours this would be an issue.

Good questions. There is bound to be a lot of corruption. People feel entitled.

Free access like South Korea??
Or just using tax payer dollars to aid corporations (once again)???
Chinese farmers have access to affordable ($10 dollar a month) high speed internet...
Is this really an accomplishment???

That's not an accomplishment.....it's once again fleecing taxpayer's of their money so non tax payers ( Biden v**ers) get free internet on my dime.

Typical of the lefty losers.....one can almost smell the corruption the left is setting up with this.....like everything else they touch.

Gnome boy.

Biden accomplishments:
1. Got us out of Afghanistan but forgot to bring home ALL those with American passports.
2. Got us involved in Ukraine War while sending money and materials to a burlesque actor pretending to be President of Ukraine.
3. Helped BRICS to gain new members and accelerate the decline of the US Dollar.
4. Blew up pipeline to Germany that caused Germany to go into hyper inflation and recession.
5. Caused realignment of Near Eastern Countries (oil producers) toward Russia and China.
6. Has helped create situation whereby African nations are canceling ties with American and Europe.

BFD....THATS SO MUCH MORE IMPORTANT TO GIVE A $30 A MONTH BREAK ON OUR INTERNET BILLS (that we already have from a prior appropriation) THAN TO HOUSE AND FEED OUR RETURNING SOLDIERS, GIVE MENTAL HELP TO THOSE THAT NEED IT, ALLOW SENIORS TO GET LIFE SAVING MEDICATIONS WITHOUT PAYING MORE THAN THEIR ANNUAL RENT.....ETC.

I dont support socialism but I do believe in a hand up when possible for our citizens...especially if they served in our military. For mental help...thats to protect ourselves and loved ones from violent mental offenders.
