Tell ya what, you go build a submarine with a high school class and then take it down a mere 100’. You do that without ANY expert help or advice and see how that works for you.

What are you babbling on about?
Serious expertise was used like for the viewing bubble, the company that made it for them certified it to 1300 meters, when they discussed 4000 meters that was going to obviously cost a lot more, which the company declined to spend. Who takes a submersible 2700 meters deeper than the bubble is rated for, can anyone begin to think that there would be a huge difference between that and a bubble rated for the thousands of tons more pressure involved?

It was constructed with unproven technology. It wasn’t tested anywhere near as deep as it was going to be going. There were No escape routes. No way for anyone to get out unless they were on the surface. Hell, they used a game station remote control to steer and control the entire sub.

Yup. The CEO/owner was trying to prove something to the rule-makers.....and he lost. And he k**led 4 other people doing it.

I wouldn't argue against that, people familiar with the project referred to it as a garage build.

One of the CEO's is doing interviews and is defending that philosophy...I don't see how using a view window that is rated to only 1300 meters has anything to do with what he is trying to call c***ting the rules. That is just plain criminal negligence.
They hired the best people for the job...
Then fired them when they started reporting how unsafe it was..
And replaced them with far less sk**led people...
Then bragged about diversity...
There's a Chinese word that doesn't t***slate well "活该"...
Basically "their i***tic actions resulted in tragedy"

That's the take I got from different reporting..
I shake my head at the negligence and stupidity of ignoring a company that specializes in pressure materials that says a view port is only rated to 1300 meters, of course there is some leeway, but triple when you are going to 4000 meters? If I were going down I'd want to pay for a port that is rated to 4000m.
They had some other issues too, it got damaged in a past extraction, something about the lifting brackets.
Think of a carbon fiber fishing pole, they are incredibly strong until you nick or scratch the surface and it will break there when the pole is bent by catching a fish.
If the submersible got dropped or banged around it could easily sustain damage that would cause it to fail under pressure. Improper torqueing of bolts could cause a stress pressure point, it would be tricky material to use correctly.

The CEO didn’t want to hire experienced men because they were white. What would you call that besides stupid

This video
How Titan was built, lost and found: An Analysis puts a lid on the idea that the dive to Titanic was just a group of rich guys on a joy ride.
Don't think anyone claimed that...
Just that it was a poorly thought out idea and that they cut corners and ignored risks...
