Good point.

Maybe the people we should be calling treasonous t*****rs are the leaders that support the NDAA, and the patriot act. It shouldn't be one side or the other either. Members of both parties should be locked up until we can sort this out, in say, 40 years or so. I hear gitmo is open.

Dick Cheney said something very similar after the passage of the Patriot Act, which he heavily pushed for: "If you're not doing anything wrong, you have nothing to worry about."

Obama recently talked about finally closing Gitmo and redefining our War on Terror, ending this occupation of foreign lands in costly containments. But it was quite disappointing to hear him defend what the NSA is doing. All anyone in any position of power has to say is "National security" and all rights are gone. Very, very scary--and absolutely wrong!

They that can give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.

They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.

Those Who Sacrifice Liberty For Security Deserve Neither.

He who would trade liberty for some temporary security, deserves neither liberty nor security.

He who sacrifices freedom for security deserves neither.

People willing to trade their freedom for temporary security deserve neither and will lose both.

If we restrict liberty to attain security we will lose them both.

Any society that would give up a little liberty to gain a little security will deserve neither and lose both.

He who gives up freedom for safety deserves neither.

Those who would trade in their freedom for their protection deserve neither.

Those who give up their liberty for more security neither deserve liberty nor security.

Phrase it any way you like but we the people, which used to be America defined, are at a crucial crossroads, just like the people of Germany in 1938:
First they came for the c*******ts,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a c*******t.

Then they came for the socialists,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a socialist.

Then they came for the trade unionists,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a trade unionist.

Then they came for me,
and there was no one left to speak for me.

Fill in any group you want, it still comes down to the inescapable fact that power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. We the people--as One--need to stand up for all citizens.

Hey straightUp: if you have difficulty with, reading and comprehension, just say so, some of us are willing to use a crayon and draw things out for you. I dont usually break down my posts for the intellectually challenged, but for you ill give it a try, but only once.

1: in my post i stated that I was not finished reading it.(NDAA)
2: I provided a quote from the act, in what I refered to as a "snippet"(defined as a small piece of something). Read it again if you did not see the quotation marks.
3: I never claimed to have come to any conclusion.(see #1)
4: the point of the snippet was the quote contained there in, not the source.

Now in response to this.... (When Obama does something like that THEN talk to me about how he "scares" people.)
Have you read about the DRONE strikes authorized by your "prophet" obama? Those can and often are refered to as terrorism. Perhaps you did read about it and failed to comprehend it. However dont mistake that me pointing this out to you in anyway makes me want to discuss it, especially with the likes of you. Your posts exude...*Low information v**er here*

p.s. perhaps you should get off of your high horse and stop with the condescending tone.

Question: If I contact my congressman, or senator, and he/she emails me back, am I guilty of talking to a terrorist?

My excited little friend... let me explain something to you...

When a question is preceded in the same sentence with "what you should ask..." It generally frames the question itself inside a statement as a way of suggesting someone else ask the question for some purpose. Indeed, I wasn't asking for you to give ME a bunch of common definitions augmented with stupid remarks. My point, as I have explained repeatedly, is that there is no legally binding definition that an American citizen can use to to challenge prosecution from the government... Which means the executive branch has the ability to strip ANYONE it wants of civil rights just by calling that person a terrorist.

Therefore, in the interest of our own self defense against a tyrannical government, WE the PEOPLE, should be asking the GOVERNMENT to define, in concrete terms, what a terrorist is. After all, as you have demonstrated quite clearly, anyone can pull a definition out of his ass and if the government can do that AND strip us of all our Constitutional rights as a result... well... we have problems.

Are you understanding now?

Definitely, a political dissident unfit for reeducation. Terrorist watch lists suggest a view of "terrorist" slightly different and less likely to need reeducation.
