You would be shocked to know how many Bible prophecies are fulfilling.
To answer your question, the guidelines in the Bible (ten commandments, words of Jesus, apostles and prophets) have been a guide for civilizations, but now individuals have established there own guidelines separate from others with no standards for society. One need only look at how these individual standards are destroying civilization worldwide.

Answer: What is so terrible about wanting people to live by the two greatest commandments?
Hearing that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees, the Pharisees got together. One of them, an expert in the law, tested him with this question: “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” Jesus replied: “ ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” Matthew 22:34-40
But love doesn't mean condoning, accepting and celebrating the habitual practice of sin which God h**es. The psalmist describes God’s hatred of sin this way:
For You are not a God who takes pleasure in wickedness; no evil dwells with You. Psalm 5:4
