Before you get married, you need to ask yourself one question

The question is, would you be willing to die to protect the one you're about to marry? If the answer is no, then you really don't love them, and the marriage will probably fail.

Ironically, Jesus our military and police heroes and others are willing to die for us, and we don't even have to marry them.

Good question. I could never answer that one, so I never got married. I like being single.

If that suits you, by all means don't ever get married. All you will do is screw up a woman's life and it won't help yours.

My mother's advice was, "don't marry a man with whom you would not be willing to share your tooth brush."

My question was applicable to my first marriage, but definitely not my second.

Prior to my getting married, I had a female friend who was engaged. The man she was engaged to was in a motorcycle accident and was left a quadraplegic. She would have had to take cate of him forever.
well, she called off the wedding and moved on. I asked myself if I would be willing to take care of my wife ( girlfriend at the time) forever, if I were in that situation? I knew I would and we have been married every since.
It takes complete dedication to forever erase all question marks.

I would never consider a same sex marriage, nor would I ever consider that to be valid. Just because I know what is the biological design and understand that it was always one moan one woman doesn't mean that I am afraid of homosexual people. It does mean that I believe the homosexual act is immoral and against God's design and therefore God's law but I am not afraid of same sex attracted people.

Coming from a family of optimists, my Dad always said the question you need to ask yourself is, "Would you be willing to k**l to protect the one you love?"
