That was "Sword" Beach right Tom?..DIdn't they have the most overall casualties other than "Omaha"?

Juno. Official casualty count 946. Omaha Beach was about 3000. My uncle was at Utah Beach, which had the lowest casualty figures of any of the landing sites.

I believe so. The guys on the landing barge with my grandfather were saying we are all going to die. My grand father told them I am going to live . He had left my Granny and my mother and two uncles behind in Canada to fight . At that time it was so bad in Canada that any able bodied man who did not go was labeled a coward and their families were mistreated .

Thankyou for the correction and the History channel source. I need to go back and watch that documentary. I missed it when it was first on. Now watching FDR.

This is the first time I have been on OPP today, been on the road. I am appalled that you are the only person who remembered that today is the 79th anniversary of D-Day.
Seventy-nine years ago, 18-20 old Americans charged into machine gun fire at Normandy. Today, sniveling brats of the same chronological age wonder what sex they are, which bathroom to use and need "safe spaces" with crayons and teddy bears because "words hurt."
Dios nos ayude.

He’s not the only one. Just the only one to post about it

My grandson is 20- I raised him . He went through junior high and High school in the US Navy sea cadets .He has been through some extreme special ops training where they checked his heart rate every 2 hours . He can survive when most won't . Do not underestimate him or his friends . No wimps in my family .
