It isn’t a cave .
It’s a debt that is required to be paid without question .
As it is written in the Constitution.
Without hostages or any other stunts ,
Pay the ffing bills,
Grow up , act like adults , and just pay the ffing bills.
Or go ahead and default everything .
This will totally ruin any right wing candidates a win in 2024.
And will probably force McCarthy out .

Do nothing McCarthy will bow down to the left and he will say it is for the good of America.
Yes, we are obligated to pay our debts, but the spending by the demonrats is what has to be reigned in.
McCarthy should never had started by giving ANY increase to the corrupt white house led by FJB.
Cutbacks, cutbacks, cutbacks are the answers.

An adult does not keep running up a huge debt and taking money for not working.

There are NO adults in DC; haven’t been for years

Yet here we are with your party cutting taxes when the budget deficit was already too high.

You are in error, my dear. You are conflating
"debt" with "budget". There is a difference, look it up in the dictionary (or maybe even your precious fact checkers - maybe they will get this right).
As Helena Glass points out in her article, "
The budget proposed by Biden is not ‘debt’ because it hasn’t been authorized yet. It is simply a request at this stage. Debt refers to obligations by law which would have accrued already such as Social Security, Interest and Pensions. But there is another stickler to Biden/Clinton’s 14th Amendment assertion – Section 5 states: The Congress shall have power to enforce, by appropriate legislation, the provisions of this article."

Woody, allow me remind you of some basic economic fundamentals. You have "Income", and you have "Expense".
Income is what you take in, and Expense is how you "choose" to spend your money."
Revenue as a percentage of GDP hit 19.2 percent in FY 2022, which is near historic highs, according to St Louis Federal Reserve Bank data. The only other times the treasury has taken in more money in relation to the size of the entire economy was in 2000 at 19.75 percent and during World War II at 19.8 percent."
https://www.westernjournal.com/mccarthy-cites-key-stats-show-spending-not-revenue-causing-debt-problem/?utm_source=Email&utm_medium=conservative-brief-WJ&utm_campaign=dailypm&utm_content=western-journalAnd even with revenue at such a high level, "the Congressional Budget Office projected this month that the deficit will be $1.5 trillion for the year, up from February’s forecast of a $1.4 trillion shortfall.
The CBO also calculated that deficits will average $2 trillion per year for the next 10 years under current spending policies."
"
In FY 2019, the federal government spent $4.4 trillion. In FY 2020, with Trump at the helm during the C***D outbreak, spending went up to $6.5 trillion. Remember the phony s**mdemic shutdown and bi-partisan STIMULUS!!!!!
When Joe Biden came to office and Democrats gained control of both chambers of Congress, federal outlays went up to $6.8 trillion in FY 2021 and came back down somewhat to $6.3 trillion in FY 2022, though C***D was well on its way to being in the rearview mirror.
Biden submitted his FY 2024 budget to Congress in March, calling for $6.8 trillion in spending."
So, Woody, the problem is not one of "lack of income", but
rather "uncontrolled expenditures" by the Biden Administration. Maybe a good place to start would be to clawback as much of the $113 Billion as possible that we are using to support the illegal, immoral, and needless war in Ukraine.
