Why are we surprised that we are in so much debt?

When you spend spend spend like drunken sailor without putting money back, of course we will be in debt..When we keep on borrowing money like it's growing on trees and not paying back, of course we will be in debt..When families spend a lot of money and can't
pay off the debt, they have to cut something in order not get so far in debt that you will be broke.. This is what is happening to our country... We need to cut some spending on order not to be broke... 70% of Americans agree with that, according to CNN.

In order to get out of debt, able bodies Americans should get off of welfare and go back to work.... And one more thing, people who are here illegally should not get one penny, until they become citizens of the United States..

When you spend spend spend like drunken sailor wit... (show quote)

Really, look at the way the deficit went up after Bush took office when he inherited a budget surplus and pissed it away for tax cuts...Look at the way dems reduced the Bush deficits by 2/3rds, and Obama left trump a $500 Billion deficit that trump blew out to almost $4 Trillion in four years...also by cutting taxes for the wealthy that added proportionately to the debt.

Your ignorance is profound Natasha, try to absorb the realities of republicans increasing deficits while dems reduce them...it's too obvious to act brain dead about.

When you can honestly talk about the DEBT (not the deficit) being reduced, then people might listen to you. If your determined to drive over a cliff it makes little difference if you do it at 100 MPH, 50 MPH or even 20 MPH, the end result is pretty much the same.
