Maricopa County seeks sanctions against Kari Lake for 'repeated demonstrably false statements'

Failed Arizona gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake lost in court yet again this week, and now Maricopa County wants to make her and her attorneys pay for it.


AZFamily.com reports that the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office has made a filing arguing that Lake and her lawyers should face sanctions for having "repeatedly made demonstrably false statements to this Court" in their failed attempts to overturn the results of the 2022 gubernatorial e******n.

The county's attorneys in particular cited her lawsuit challenging the signature verification procedures for containing "several demonstrably false statements intended to confuse the Court and expand the remand proceedings," while adding that "the claim that ‘no signature verification was conducted’ was entirely frivolous, and Lake and her counsel knew it.”

Lake, a political protégé of former President Donald Trump, narrowly lost her e******n last year to Democratic Gov. Katie Hobbs and has refused to concede the race despite losing multiple court challenges attempting to overturn the results.


Unlike Trump, however, Lake did not take the extra step of inciting a violent mob to attack her state's legislative branch to disrupt the certification of Hobbs' victory.

Her last case had NO chance. Our law states that she needed to prove that NO signature verifications took place. The fact that they were "verrified" in less than 1 second, in many cases, is irrelevant.

Our last e******n was not even close to be fair. The number of polling locations with v****g machine malfunctions, upwards of 70%, on v****g day was inexcusable. The fact that v****g wasn't extended is also inexcusable. But hey, the person who beat Kari Lake just so happened to be the person in charge of e******ns.
