The signature shortages of socialism have reared their ugly head again in a bad way in Joe Biden's America.

According to Dr. Scott Gottieb, a former FDA commissioner and current P****r board member -- a revolving-door swamp thing, sure, but indisputably a man who understands how the medical industry works -- Joe Biden's Inflation Reduction Act is bringing new heights in medical drug shortages, particularly in the critical area of cancer chemotherapy treatments, where very expensive and hand-tailored drugs must be administered to patients on a strict schedule for treatment to be effective.

It's sad stuff and reason alone for repealing Biden's garbage Inflation Reduction Act. Price caps create shortages -- every single time and Joe Biden remains willfully, culpably ignorant of this. For those patients who depend on these drugs for life of death treatment, good luck. Biden just cut off their access to life-saving medicine and he's still crowing about it.

Biden didn’t cause this. The unconscionable greed of Big Pharma did.

I had a friend of mine who worked for a major hospital. It was his job to aquire medication that was in short supply. I remember once he was looking for preservation free heparin. This was used for babies. Heparin is an anticoagulant, and is a common drug.He quit his job 20 years ago.
Drugs are manufactured in batches by drug companies. They may do it once a year or so. What they do is guess how much is needed make it, and hope for the best. Drug companies have not always guessed right, and there have been drug shortages of even common drugs for years. The problem seems to be getting worse.
Since drugs are usually manufactured one place in the world, I doubt this is a result of Anericans new drug laws.

Well thanks to Socialized medicine you must wait for weeks or months to see a specialist. I've known a couple of people who had serious problems and were told to manage their symptoms with over the counter medication until they might get an appointment with the right doctor perhaps in 6 or 8 weeks, perhaps.

Well one of them ended up critical with pneumonia and nearly died, the other now must wait months to see if she has a life threatening disease.

Thanks Obama and Biden v**ers. Thanks a bunch. You're the bestest.

Shortages, shortages, shortages. L*****ts like Obama and the i***ts who v**ed for him think that everything is magic. Barry the Obama snapped his magic fingers and created Obama Care. And it di-int cost anybody a penny. Why nobody thought of it sooner is beyond me.

And the Mighty Obama said " Let their be free Health Care " and there was free health care. And he said " Letteth the rich pay for everyone's health care " and it was so.

Ah but real life isn't like that. Free health care is cracking. We are quickly turning into Canada and Great Britain. You can die waiting for a knee or hip replacement in those countries.

You can do anything you want and pretend it works.

Yes, shortages are a pain in the butt.. as most of us have found out with the supply line failing.

I have been lucky, while I have had some procedures which some would call major or extensive.. I have not had to lay about and wait for a Dr. or medication..

Think I will just count my blessings and find a book..

Have a good evening and post again tomorrow... stay well...

The hip has bothered me for 30 years, but in the last year it really got bad. I just hope when it gets to the point where it has to be done, I can get it done fast. At least I can say I am wearing out, I did not rust out. I had physical jobs all of my life and now the parts and pieces are the worse for wear.

Some days it does not bother me at all. I have a younger relative who went through it so I have an idea of what to expect. I am not quite bad enough to be approved yet. In the fall I am scheduled for tests.

I feel bad for you, hip problems are very common. I have avoided them so far.. My father however had 3 of them.. for one of them he was sitting on our porch railing and fell off onto a cement block planter border.. busted all the things they had done about a month earlier and he had it all done over plus more..

When he fell he was in such pain he turned gray.. for real..

so take care and do as the doc tells you.. Oh, My dad was lucky he got surgery on one of those from the same doc who did a number of pro NFL players and one of the twins pitchers had a shoulder done by the same Dr.. so workmanship was good and if not for the fall he probably would have been pretty well off..

One of the first things I've heard you say that was on, let government control pricing, or at least profit margins, or at least have a say in fair and competitive sourcing.

Canada and other countries get our drugs way cheaper, what, are we subsidizing the rest of the world's US drug pricing?

It's funny, right now I am fine. A week ago not so much. Sooner or later it will not go into these temporary remissions. The only good thing is that being retired I won't have to worry about missing work. I have a lot of things going on this summer and fall. If I can get through to next winter before it gets too bad to ignore, that will be really good.
