We all know the cost of lives in this country from mass k*****gs from adults to children. But there are other issues to consider.

As schools around the country deal with teacher shortages 71%of teachers say the reason is they just don’t feel safe due to Mass shootings.

Superintendents and educators face imminent dangers and have to take time away from teaching. The schools have to hire and train (security resource officers) (SRO) the schools need to supply staffs with the the tools they need to keep safety at the forefront of every School day in an attempt to prevent teacher shortage.

Superintendents need look beyond armed guards and metal detectors and on a weekly basis create active shooter drills and with these capabilities 63% of all teachers still do not feel safe.

Schools around the country are ordering new technology called (VISUAL GUN DETECTIONS SYSTEMS) which is artificial Intelligence. Another system called ( ZERO EYES VISUAL SYSTEMS) and at what cost to the school budgets. Just look at the cost to the school budgets. There are approximately 11,500 public and private K thru 12 schools in this country. School shootings alone has created a $4.2 billion industry in this country just in new advanced equipment. This does not take into consideration metal detectors at the entrance to each school. Average cost of a metal detector is approximately $3,200 each. How many metal detectors are required at each school.

The rise in Mass k*****gs is clearly impacting our countries teachers. When kids arrive at school we have armed guards full body armor and metal detectors.

Then teachers need training which is called situational awareness. Knowing what is happening around you and being able to quickly identify potential threats. At what cost to the school budget and not to mention teacher awareness and not preparing to teach your a class.

As we listen to republicans and MAGA arguing that hiring more SRO’s but what republicans don’t understand that does not solve the problem. Because we can look at the 375 law enforcement officers from Texas responded to the Uvalde shootings all trained and failed to take action as 19 kids and 2 adults k**led. So what training was done at this school.

I would hope as you read thru this topic please keep in mind the cost and the lost time for teachers that are there to teach academics not to teach survival tactics.

Just in 2020 and 2021 over 300,000 teachers left teaching and a additional number of Americans training to become teachers has dropped by 1/3.

So republicans creating safer environments in schools is essential to attracting teachers is clearly not working. There agenda is to push expansive mental health but these right wing legislators have no way of accomplishing this because now they have to raise taxes for advancing mental health, new technology, metal detectors, security guards fully armed, training for teacher awareness, most schools require at least 2 active shooter drills a month. This takes time away from teaching our kids. But the cost to totally making our schools safe can run into billions of dollars.

It was estimated that a school properly protected just your labor cost for security guards could add $1.4 million dollars a year. Because most towns have a high school, Jr. High School and on average 2 to 3 elementary schools. So just think about what it would cost to properly outfit just one school with security guards.not to mention high technology equipment

So we look at metal detectors, door and window alarm systems. We have approximately 1.8 million teacher what is the cost of training. So in order to keep our schools safe could cost up to $35 billion upfront cost not to mention daly cost of paying security guards and the cost to maintain these new high tech equipment in these schools. But now red state governors want the federal government to pay for these systems.

The national teachers union are demanding better mental health resources to help keep and retaining teachers and help reduce teacher burnout. They want the towns to provide training on how to identify and support students with mental illness. Offer mental health services. Bldg. Access control systems, Automatic door and window lock systems, alarm security monitoring systems, Additional physical barriers with fencing and locked gates, gun detection technology, additional exterior lighting with motion detectors, gun detection technology and active shooter training for students.

After all this stuff has been addressed and our schools look like a war zone right wing legislators and Republican Governors are out on the campaign trail on how they are going to keep our schools safe. But not one of these legislators has made there v**ers aware of the cost and who is going to pay the billions of dollars. Is it state local or federal taxes. All this is going on during the Republican agenda of not increasing the debt limit and adding Billions of dollars to the deficit.

Finally one teacher spoke up she teachers visual arts made the comment. (THIS IS NOT WHAT I SIGNED UP FOR) I signed up to teach not to teach survival tactics and where to run and hide. And not one of the right wing legislators addressed how to regulate or get these guns out of the hands of these kids. What your addressing is all this high tech equipment, Security guards, metal detectors, training, teacher and student mental health, armed guard, window and door locks, barriers fences all to watch an 18 year old kid can walk into a gun shop and purchase an assault weapon with no regulations. Not only are you requiring to add all these safety issues at billions of dollars in cost your proposing weaker gun laws.

(DOES THIS MAKE ANY SENSE)

Why can’t we spend the time with our legislators on how to get at a minimum assault rifles off the street and minimum age to purchase a gun, and background checks.

And before I get your barrage of insults please think about what lack of any gun control legislation means to this country in tax dollars. Not to mention the leading cause of death to our children is now mass k*****gs which use to be car accidents.

And please don’t use your agenda on a******n and democrats won’t protect our kids in the womb. Democrats support a******n under three conditions. (RAPE) (INCEST) (AND MEDICALLY NECESSARY FOR THE MOTHERS LIFE)

Now what security situations do we need at malls, grocery stores, churches, night clubs.

Gun control is one of the greatest Utopian delusions of our time, that we can prevent the most extreme examples of retributive human behavior by making it slightly less convenient.

First off....Democrats support all a******ns for any reason until at least the child crowns.
Now that that lie has been fixed

What do you propose, other than taking guns away from people? Nothing. Don't forget that it was the regressive democrats who took SRO out of schools in the last few years.

Teachers are quitting for many reasons. Many sane teachers are quitting because of the asinine rules they are subjected to by the woke administrators. They waste time on active shooter drills, CRT, and g****r/pronoun uses. So too much time is wasted on stupid things, all pushed by the left.

I will put it very plain and simple for you...I am not willing to give up my guns no matter how many people are murdered by guns.

We all know the cost of lives in this country from... (show quote)

It is unusual for the legal purchaser of a firearm to commit a crime with it. The few examples that are over-hyped by the media are not typical. Most school shootings occurred at after school events like ball games and many times did not even involve students.
According to the FBI, most of the guns recovered from criminals are stolen. Maybe you have some brilliant idea has to how those will be registered, or banned. The facts are that most mass shootings occur in about ten metro areas, and the majority involve black gang-bangers shooting each other. The fact is that there are about 24 million AR/AK type scary looking rifles in this country today, and they account for less than TWO PERCENT of the murders.

Since you have invented most of your post, keep inventing and tell us how YOU would go about prevention of gun deaths. Take a country like Norway who have common sense gun control and they have almost zero mass shootings.

I am currently going back 20 years ago when these mass shootings were rare in this country, and why have they increased every year since

Children and teens are more likely to die by guns than anything else
By Annette Choi, CNN
Updated 8:41 AM EDT, Wed March 29, 2023

Guns are the leading cause of death for US children and teens, since surpassing car accidents in 2020.

Firearms accounted for nearly 19% of childhood deaths (ages 1-18) in 2021, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Wonder database. Nearly 3,600 children died in gun-related incidents that year. That’s about five children lost for every 100,000 children in the United States. In no other comparable country are firearms within the top four causes of mortality among children, according to a KFF analysis.

The shooting at The Covenant School in Nashville on Monday, marks the 16th shooting this year in grades K-12 and the deadliest since the school shooting in Uvalde, Texas, last year, according to a CNN analysis of school shooting data. Six people — three children and three adults — were k**led.

There have been 130 mass shootings so far in 2023, the highest number of shootings recorded at this point in any year since at least 2013, according to data from the Gun Violence Archive.

Child and teen mortality overall surged during the C****-** p******c — driven not by C****-** deaths but by fatal injuries, according to a new study in JAMA. Firearms accounted for nearly half of the increase in mortality in 2020.

What the data says about gun deaths in the U.S.
BY JOHN GRAMLICH
More Americans died of gun-related injuries in 2021 than in any other year on record, according to the latest available statistics from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). That included record numbers of both gun murders and gun suicides. Despite the increase in such fatalities, the rate of gun deaths – a statistic that accounts for the nation’s growing population – remained below the levels of earlier decades.

Here’s a closer look at gun deaths in the United States, based on a Pew Research Center analysis of data from the CDC, the FBI and other sources. You can also read key public opinion findings about U.S. gun violence and gun policy.

I would also like to comment on a couple of the myths you mention.. first that crime is an urban problem.. Over the border in Wisconsin near the river, in one months time april/may, 4 law officers were murdered in 3 separate incidents. 2 of these incidents were started by traffic stops but led to the deaths of 3 officers, the remaining was a domestic disturbance which k**led the 4 officer.. all very rural areas and small town/township jurisdictions..

Also, the crime rates are nearly the same in rural and urban areas, that is any crime per capita..

And while you mention that assault style rifles account for only 2% of the k*****gs, it is also true that they account for nearly 90% of mass shootings.. that is what the design in for.. k*****g many people in the shortest possible time.

The Armorlite engineers did not give a rats butt about shooting rabbits or coyotes..

I will also add, it is not pushing for gun confiscation , most people in America do want gun regulation.. enforce the existing laws and create new ones if they will help reduce the k*****g of kids and bystanders.. No one will be taking the guns of , we who follow the law..

Where do the funds come from? How about some of the hundreds of billions of dollars that have been sent to Ukraine? There is enough pork in the Federal budget to supply a million hog farms.
You cannot "get these assault weapons off our streets" because the ones on the street are mostly stolen. Background checks are already performed on most firearms purchases. Last year alone, there were more than 100 THOUSAND stops on firearms purchases and barely a hundred were prosecuted. Just for laughs, I want to see if you can look that one up before I post the link.
No one knows how far you are going back because you never post a shred of evidence to back up your claims. You will notice I use sources like SCOTUS decisions, official government stats with links to prove it.
You provide claims and opinions.
One. More. Time. "Mass shootings" are any shooting in which three or more people are k**led or injured, as per the FBI definition. Almost all these shootings occur in about ten metro areas and almost all involve black gangs k*****g each other. In Chicago, (I have already posted the links in another thread) there were 695 murders last year. W****s and Asians make up barely one third of the population of the city, and commit barely five percent of the violent crime. Wanna guess who commits the other 95%? Not b****s, but black gang members on the South Side of the city. Some of your precious kids k**led with guns are already murderers and dope slingers.
You want "assault rifles"/scary looking guns off the street. If you were somehow able to get rid of every one of the 24 million odd AR/AK lookalikes in private ownership in this country, You would temporarily cut the murder rate by less than 2%. ARs are used in some mass shootings because they are fashionable, not because they are more effective than a bolt or lever action rifle. These school shootings are mostly planned and when no one can shoot back you can k**l just as many people nearly as fast with almost any firearm.

I notice you provide zero proof for your claims. I'm not surprised. Handguns are by far the most common weapon used in mass shootings. Unlike you, I provide proof from reputable sources.
https://www.statista.com/statistics/476409/mass-shootings-in-the-us-by-weapon-types-used/

As for your other untrue statement, you should have looked next door to Illinois. Of about 1300 murders in the state in 2021, 800 occurred in Chicago. Mostly on the South Side, with one gang shooting another. The murder rate in Alabama is almost non existent once you take away Birmingham and Montgomery.
Some eighty percent of all murders in this country occur in about 6% of the counties, and every one of those counties is a part of about ten metro areas. In over half the counties in the US there have been zero murders in at least three years.
The most popular hunting rifle in the US today is the bolt action, which began as a military rifle. The second most popular is the lever action, which began as a civilian arm that was quickly adopted by the military. Semi auto rifles with detachable box magazines have been owned by civilians since 1905, LONG before any military in the world adopted them for use as issue weapons.
By the way, you misspelled "Armalite." If these rifles are "military grade" as so many Liberal hoplophobes claim, why is it that no military in the world uses them as an issue weapon?

Please forgive me you seem to be hung up in one area the typic was created to expose the cost of mass k*****gs in schools. Uvalde and I can go down the line of in class slaughters mass k*****gs which is the topic at hand.

We are not discussing guns being confiscated from criminals that’s a whole other issue and has nothing to do with teachers leaving the teaching profession.

Your doing really good at the typical MAGA agenda of deflecting.from the topic at hand.

Well I can see your r****t agenda on Black gang bangers which I haven’t the time to post statistics on poor and minority areas of gun violence why don’t you go and do the research on that topic.

We are not talking about the typical thugs and street violence we are on the topic of teachers leaving the profession and the cost of protecting kids in classrooms and you go off on a rant that I can dispute but bad guys k*****g bad guys is not the topic we are discussing.

Track a gun is a very simple process.

Guns released by manufacturers, sold to gun shops all have a serial number. Person enters a gun shop wants to purchase a gun a background check is fine the gun now is given to the buyer and the serial number is attached to his name. Then gun now gets registered with serial number and the buyers name. Very simple with todays technology.

So please stick to the topic at hand. You can create a new topic on street violence with b****s versus w****s. I would be happy to answer but stick to the topic at hand.

And I am not a liar. But since you called me a liar I have attached some sites for you can research. Try it out

https://www.childstats.gov/americaschildren/mortality.asp

https://www.cnn.com/2022/12/19/health/homicide-child-death/index.html

You will note that firearms deaths are the leading cause of death among black male youth in their late teens. Just about the age they become really involved in gangs. No mystery there. Youth firearms deaths, just like for any other demographic are compartmentalized and certain demographics have far higher rates, leading to a MISleading conclusion. When you take away young black males (in areas with high gang activity, NOT in general) firearms are no longer the leading cause of death. COD also includes accidents and suicides, which should not be listed with murders but are lumped in with them anyway.
Once more, cherry-picking to give an unrealistic portrayal of a situation. You use four isolated incidents near your home as proof, as though that's representative of the entire country rather than just a small slice of the midwest.
Young black males in certain areas are k**led at an appalling rate, enough so that even though they are a very small percentage of the total, it skews the entire statistic. Same with drug deaths among certain groups of white kids, all out of proportion and not representative of the whole.
