The Biden apologists are sweating it out these days. They will go hush, hush soon, ghosting the rest of us for a while, only to pop up later with a new tactic.

The writer is correct about the details about Biden, and of course in pointing out that D.C. is rife with corruption (otherwise Congressmen and Senators could not become multimillionaires in 2-3 years). But I want to take this back to where it began with the National Republican Party in 1860. The 1860 GOP with its hypocritical white nationalist president Abe Lincoln aimed to establish an all powerful, sovereign, mercantilist central national government. The southern states resisted, seeking to preserve the founder's system of a decentralized limited government of sovereign states. Ultimately Virginia seceded and twelve more states followed over the next four years. Finding itself shorn of nearly 75 percent of revenue the south had provided, the GOP declared war. When the north finally defeated an outnumbered south (by 4 to 1), and then found the reluctantly re-admitted states would not bend to the central national mercantilist government desires of the GOP, the GOP established Reconstruction over the veto of its President. A twelve year rape of what remained of the south followed but a huge central national government had been imposed, and when Democrats took power in 1885 that model of an ever-growing, huge, massively corrupt central government remained. The March 2 1867 Reconstruction Act clearly stated that the national government was sovereign over states, cutting the throat of Federalism and laying a ground for massive corruption, even of the Biden variety.
