Heliene opens 420-MW solar panel assembly line in Minnesota

Heliene officially unveiled its new solar panel assembly lines to the public this week in Mountain Iron, Minnesota. The Canadian solar panel company has been operating a 150-MW factory in Minnesota since 2018. Those lines are still making traditional 60- and 72-cell panels using legacy equipment, but now directly next door, brand new equipment will be making mono- and bifacial panels with half-cut cells at a 420-MW annual capacity plant.

Solar Power World attended the ribbon-cutting event at the new Heliene manufacturing lines, along with over 100 members of the public, U.S. senators from Minnesota Amy Klobuchar and Tina Smith, state senators and local media. Martin Pochtaruk, Heliene CEO, choked up when thanking the Heliene employees at the event for getting up to work each day and making the expansion possible. The solar manufacturing expansion is a win for the local economy — 60 additional employees are being hired for the new lines, bringing Heliene’s total Minnesota job count to 100.

Although Heliene started construction on the new factory before manufacturing tax credits were included in the Inflation Reduction Act, this solar panel assembly facility is the first to open in a post-IRA world and a sign of things to come. The factory was built from the ground-up in less than a year, with the manufacturing equipment being delivered just five weeks ago. The lines should begin full test runs next week, and Heliene is already focusing on the future. Pochtaruk announced that Heliene will spend $7 million on updated equipment for the company’s original 150-MW plant, doubling the capacity to 300 MW. And this is all going to be done by July 2023.

OH darn this is painful.. You are correct, I looked at none of those. the only one I know a bit about is the one in Mountain Iron Minnesota. this is real and the product is made right in this united states.. I equipment and process is top of the line and as automated as can be.. they are doing a strong business and if you read the linked article, you know about the expanding which will be on line this year.. the company is Canadian, but with many Canadian business operating in the US.. and a focus on Minnesota, they are a strong and aggressive company and are doing well the "made in America" sticker means what it says the panels are not sold as a canadian product but as and American product.. It has made a fair number of local people happy. Mountain Iron is a true small town, tiny in fact, and the resurrections of business is very welcome.. the original plant was also for solar panels, they got cross checked by the dumping of Chinese panels which affected much of the US effort to renewable energy near 15 /20 years ago now. big modernization on the time of purchase and big expansion in the here and now..

If those other companies, which I did not look at are only selling Chinese product, they do not have any postive affect on our building a new segment to the economy.

But in spite of my not checking them, a number of US companies are in fact doing the Manufacturing and building an industry right now in our country..

Darn, I should have more info on each of all those companies...

It is foolish to talk of trading with the enemy.. think of the massive amount of products the US uses that are made in China.. It is often a given that what we buy on any day of the week comes made in China.

And this situation was not created by Biden..

Russian design was and still is the foundation for the entire buildup of China modern military..

Yes, the arming of China goes way back to Bill Clinton awarding them First Nation Trading Status. When the Berlin Wall came down in 1989, the breakup of the Soviet Union flooded China with cheap weapons, especially coming out of the Ukraine. More went to Iran which, in turn armed the Chechen Rebels to fight Boris Yeltsin and Putin in the new Russian Federation.

You have to realize that many of us citizens of the United States do not advocate trade with c*******t nations because they do not operate on cost-based manufacturing and compete fairly, preferring to steal trade secrets, patents, and cash throuh currency manipulation. WASHINGTON, D.C.- According to a report from Fox News, James “Whitey” Bulger’s nephew, Jim Bulger, was a business associate of H****r B***n who also appears to have played a key role in a number of H****r’s Chinese business ventures.

Whitey Bulger has a criminal past and was a notorious Boston crime boss. After fleeing Boston in 1994, he became one of the nation’s most-wanted fugitives.

It wasn’t until 2011 that he was captured. He was incarcerated and was serving a life sentence for 11 murders and several other crimes when he died in 2018. Jim Bulger is also the son of William “Billy” Bulger, who served as president of the Massachusetts State Senate for eight years.

With a family history in crime and in politics, Jim Bulger himself ended up serving as the chairman of Boston-based Thornton Group LLC, which is a firm that reportedly joined forces with H****r B***n’s Rosemont Seneca to launch its joint-venture with Chinese investment firm Bohai Capital.

It was in this business venture that BHR Partners was created. According to emails obtained and reviewed by Fox News Digital, BHR Partners is controlled by Bank of China Limited.

One of the emails, dated January 27, 2014, with the subject lined: “Meeting with Chinese Ambassador,” allegedly shows Jim Bulger suggesting himself, H****r B***n, and his Rosemont Senaca co-founder Devon Archer to “meet with the Chinese ambassador in DC to talk about the fun.”

Bulger also forwarded an email from his associate, Mike Leonard of Thornton Group to Biden an Archer, which said:

“Please read the document Lenny sent me today, you will find it below. A US Embassy staffer met with the former CEO of the Bahai Fund in 2008 and wrote up a report on the meeting.”

Bulger wrote that is is “pretty interesting that someone at the Embassy in Beijing would be interested in what the domestic Bohai PE Fund was up to.” He added:

“Thought you guys should see this. I still believe a meeting early next week with the Ambassador if possible would be best, hope this has not caused to[sic] much of an (expletive) ache.”

As reported by Fox News, it is unclear if the meeting between Biden, Bulger, Archer, and the Chinese Ambassador ever took place. However, at the time of the meeting request, Joe Biden was serving as vice president of the United States.

Another email obtained and reviewed by Fox News Digital, dated May 23, 2014, shows Bulger writing to H****r B***n and Archer. He wrote:

“Gentlemen, during the weekly BHR call last night Lindsay informed the whole China team excluding Jonathan about the message you both conveyed during the morning call with Lindsay. She was very clear to all on the phone that the signing of an investment contract with Gouxin or BOC or PICC task number 1.”

The report from Fox News states that BOC is “likely referring” to Bank of China and that PICC is “likely referring” to the People’s Insurance Company of China.
In that same email, Bulger also allegedly suggests that Biden an Archer discussed “high level research” with another associate from Thornton, Mike Leonard, on the “KAZ/Sino energy business” so that they “both can review.”

H****r appears to have been aware that Bulger was the nephew of Whitey, the notorious mobster. One email, from 2011, obtained by Fox News Digital, shows one of H****r’s business associates forwarding a news article of Whitey’s 2011 arrest to H****r, Archer, and Eric Schwerin. The subject line said: “Jim’s uncle ….”

H****r has been under federal investigation for his “tax affairs” since 2018. Weeks after the 2020 p**********l e******n, H****r released a statement acknowledging the federal investigation of his “tax affairs.” In a December 2020 statement, he said:

“I take this matter very seriously, but I am confident that a professional and objective review of these matters will demonstrate that I handled my affairs legally an appropriately, including with the benefit of professional tax advisors.”
