After seeing the r**ts and disturbances splashed across the various media channels over Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri and Eric Garner in New York, I walked away from the TV shaking my head. Race has become the leading issue of the day, overshadowing all other issues confronting our country. Why does the black community think this is the best method of solving any grievances? Is this publicity more than a smokescreen to dampen public reactions to other issues, such as the Obama Administration's i*****l i*********n EO, or the issuance of over 3400+ new federal agency policy decisions the Friday after Thanksgiving?

In looking back through our country's history, the groups that suffered many times more than the black population was the American Indian Nations. The Sioux, Apache, Blackfoot, Comanche, Cherokee , Creek, Crow, Dakota, Hopi, Huron, Iroquois, Lumbee, Muskogee, Pawnee, and the other 534 tribes were driven off their land, exterminated, rounded up, then placed on government reservations. In total, 313 treaties were written between the Indian Nations and the US Government: All 313 treaties were broken by the US Government.

The total US indigenous Indian population in the 1830's have been estimated at 5,000,000+. Disease, starvation, wars, extermination efforts on behalf of the US Government have decimated that population to little more than 300,000 in the US, per the 2010 US Census. The remaining Indian Nations have a far greater reason to feel bitterness towards the US Government and the white population than the black population.

On December 26th, 1862, the US Army executed 38 Sioux (Lakota) Indians by h*****g (under orders from Abraham Lincoln) in Mankato, Minnesota. Three years previous, the US Army forcibly removed all of the Sioux (Lakota) from throughout the State of Minnesota and placed them on a reservation along the Minnesota River. They were not allowed to leave the reservation and not allowed to hunt. If they left the reservation, the Sioux would be considered "Hostile" and could be shot on sight. Part of the treaty was for rations while on the reservation, which made them totally dependent on the Indian Agents. The corrupt Indian Agents skimmed off the rations and allowed the Sioux to starve. Given the choice to continue on the Reservation and allow their people to starve or revolt, the Sioux revolted. The "war" was very short, lasting a little over 3 months. Many of the Sioux were k**led. President Abraham Lincoln decided that 38 of the Sioux leaders would be executed for their r*******n. This took place at Mankato, Minnesota.

Watch the movie. It is 1:18 long, but will give you a new perspective on how conflict CAN be forgiven and reconciliation can take place between the races. The (Lakota) Sioux had many more grievances than any other
group in our country, yet found a way to bring people together, regardless of their race. We might acknowledge their heart and wisdom or continue to listen to the race baiters and dividers. It is entirely your individual choice!!

It is still going on here today. The poorest place in the United States is The Pine Ridge reservation, a Lakota reservation. The Chiricahua Apache Nation has few full blooded Chiricahua Apaches. Oil companies and the U.S. government have stolen money for drilling on their land from the tribes through trusts.

We should be ashamed.
