If Trump is so incompetent, why was he able to negotiate and pressure better trade agreement (with Mexico, Canada, and China) than his predecessors (Clinton, Bush, Obama)?

You realize that Clinton negotiated NAFTA, right?

And that all trump did was negotiate some minor revisions to Clinton’s deal, the sort of thing that in previous administrations wouldn’t have even merited a press release?

And that it was Clinton that got China into the WTO, greatly reducing trade friction with the US?

Or that Obama negotiated the T***s Pacific Protocol, which would have committed 40% of the world’s economy to playing by “our” rules — and excluding China? You know TPP: it’s the deal trump ripped up because it was one of Obama’s signature achievements. And that allowed China to take a seat at the head of the table.

Or that Bush increased the number of free trade agreements between America and individual countries from 3 to 16?

Let’s finish with trump’s “deal” with China. He announced it was a “historic” agreement that would commit China to buying an additional $200 billion worth of American products. Sounds great, right?

So how much of that $200 billion did China actually buy?

None.

Zero.

Zip.

You clearly don’t understand that trump is completely full of s**t, and has the attention span of a gnat. He pays a tiny amount of attention only long enough to hear something he can turn into a story about how he’s the bestest boy ever. And he does that because about 1/3 of the country still hasn’t worked out the s**m, and believes the nonsense he feeds them.

He hasn’t got the patience to sweat the details, like China not having an OBLIGATION to buy anything (they promised “best efforts”). All he wants is the sound bite.
