There is some good news. Last week the wife sent me for eggs and other stuff. I nearly fainted. Large eggs were under $ 2 per dozen. We are now eating more eggs.

My next door neighbor has chickens, we get them from him. His eggs are richer and creamier than store bought even dreamed of. I'm totally ruined for store bought eggs for life.

Fresh eggs are the best. We have neighbors, family, and believe it or not, even a lady in town on my mail route who give us eggs.
We get our meat from a local processor so I talked to them yesterday, and they'll sell me raw pork belly for 3 bucks a pound. I'm gonna give making bacon a try.
