I'm looking at 11 days off, and have a couple of projects that might eat up a day and a half of that. Then, I'm stuck talking to ya'll, or the dogs.
The dogs might be better.

Against my wonderful wife's will, I may start another project.
I'll finish it when I get off work in 12 days.

Seriously!
What the hell do you do with yourself when you don't have to get up, and go to work?
I'm getting older, and I wonder about this stuff.
I can't, or don't want to ride a horse that might buck. The bag won't let me have a dirt bike. I like gardening, but, I don't have the energy to watch it grow.
I floated the idea about how the grandkids would love it if I turned this house into a huge slot car track.
No. No. My wife is a stick in the mud.
I guess I'll just keep working till I can't imagine fun anymore.....

My father in law got ordered back to work after he remodeled the bathroom--looked real nice--then he tore it out and remodeled it again .

Arch it’s tough. I retired a number of years ago. You know why I had to. I got so bored I opened my own financial firm. Now, I’m busier than I’ve ever been in my life.

Six grandkids within 30 miles of my home. An incredible blessing for sure! But absolutely no worries about keeping busy.
Plus, my wife is still working. Guess who does the shopping, the cooking, and the house work?

Get a still and start brewing your own alcohol...
I'm really enjoying that hobby...
Cider came out well... Brandy was ok... Waiting for the weather to warm up so I can try out the barley and rye...
Not sure about prices in the US...But I got my entire set up for around $200....

You know, for years, I've said I wanted to be a go getter. Take my wife to work, and when she's done, go getter.😁

For today, I'm gonna just hang out with the dogs, and think about how bad it must suck to be out there walking around delivering mail. 30 mph North wind with rain, and Temps in the low 40's all day. Miserable conditions for sure.

The whole time I have been married to Betty she only worked about 4 years --cost me 50 grand to keep her beauty shop open . I finally asked the owner of the building where her shop was not to renew her lease . She stays home --takes care of the kids and the house and I go to work to get away . LOL---Blade runners still doesn't sound bad. I have a cousin who makes booze from our great grandpappys recipe .

LOL! Yeah, RIGHT CD! I'm a real task manager! Part of my 'duties' is to keep her iced tea glass properly topped off.

I'm 81 and retired two years ago. I've discovered a way to always have something to keep me busy. I lie in bed and create a to do list, then it's time for breakfast. With my belly now full I get back in bed and work out all the details needed to complete each task and by the time that's done I've already come up with ways to modify some of those tasks. Next I'll get on the computer and look up the materials needed for each task and by now it's time for lunch. After lunch I'll check emails and read up on the latest news which makes me too upset to even think about starting the tasks. By the time I cool off it's time to prepare dinner and then wash the dishes. Now I have to rest and relax from all that mental exercise. Tomorrow's another day and I'll start the whole process over again.

When I was in my 30’s I was told by an older lady that there are many things in each community that operate on volunteer labor. She mentioned local museums. It can really grow from there. Many things in a community are staffed by volunteers. Perhaps I am seeing this wrong as I live in St George, UT and there are lots of people who volunteer for the multiple events found here. To name a few of the biggest; the St George Marathon, first Sat in Oct.; the Senior Games, first two weeks after the first Sat in Oct; there were two Ironman Races this year and the list can go on. The local Senior Center has a blurb this month with several different volunteer jobs. Utah has some nice State Parks and they also use volunteers. National Parks use volunteers to assist visitors and I guess if you are a people person you could meet lots of people who want information or just to talk to someone about what is available. I never volunteered at any of the National Parks but I did meet people from all over the world as I hiked the trails. On one hike I met a runner who participates in 125 mile races. I didn't know there were races that long. I always thought a Marathon at 26 miles was really far.

One guy here learned a lot of the history of the area and gave lectures to various groups. He also led excursions to many interesting places. He was active and loved by the community until the end of his life.

That's a tough task...
The sugar to lemon ratio is in constant flux as the ice melts
