You want good mail service? Don't be stupid. Simple.
I have a tennant on my route who has been there about 6 weeks now. She RARELY receives mail with her name on it. BUT, she does recieve the bulk business mail addressed to "resident, occupant, our neighbor, and current resident." The former tenants have a forward for their mail, so it's not delivered there.
Anyway, this lady takes ALL mail without her name on it, and hangs it out of the box expecting me to pick it up. Its her mail. She lives there.
Anyway, I'm fed up with it, so today I pushed a confrontation with her. The mail was h*****g out of the box, she was home with the door open, so I put her "our neighbor" mail from AT&T in there along with what she had h*****g out. Then, I slammed the lid down on her mailbox so she could hear it. Well, about 4 houses down, there she was with all of her mail DEMANDING that I send it back to the sender so she never gets it again.
I tried explaining to her that it's bulk business mail, and it's my job to deliver it. It won't go back to the sender, it goes to recycling.
Long story short, I refused to take it, told her I'm not the trash man, and just throw it away if she doesn't want it. She's gonna call my boss, and file a complaint on me for this now. Fine.
Monday, I'll f**g that address as vacant, put a vacant card in her box, and no mail will be delivered to that address. Packages will be returned to sender for a vacant address.
My position on this is easily defensible since there is no occupant, resident, current resident, or neighbor there.
Pick your battles!!

Understandably so. She's about 350 on the hoof by my best guess. Throw in attitude, and entitlement, and its a no brainer.

That explains why she h**es the walk to the mail box...
You should hide the occasional dingdong in her mail... That'll fix things

After my Buddy Ronnie passed I kept getting his junk mail. The post man told me that Ronnie would have to stop the mail service . Well that was impossible since he was dead so I started writing addressee deaceased on his mail and putting it back in the box . After about a month I quit getting his mail .

Heartily agree! That one will easily become a classic!

Thats a dumb thing for a mail carrier to say. I have a lady on my route who's husband passed away, and she very politely asked me how to stop the junk mail in his name because he got a lot of it.
It's an easy fix. I put a card in my route saying customer is deceased. Deliver only first class with that name until estate is settled. That way, when I'm off, whoever carries it will know.

Good for you. Most of the rest of us get thrown to the wolves when " valued customers " file the tiniest complaint.
