Cops Blunt Response to Burglar Shot by Victim Has to Be Understatement of the Year

Call it the understatement of the year: After an alleged burglar thought he could get away with a home invasion, police say they arrived at the scene to find “there was no threat to the public.”

That’s because the threat to the public was shot and k**led by the homeowner.

According to KIRO-TV in Seattle, the burglary attempt happened in broad daylight in the Seattle suburb of Lake Forest Park, Washington, last Wednesday.

The burglar had forced his way into the occupied home, according to KIRO; it’s unclear whether he knew whether the resident was at home or not. He was, however, and he had availed himself of his Second Amendment rights.

Lake Forest Park Police said they were called to the scene shortly after 1:30 p.m.

“Yesterday at 1335 hours, dispatch received a report of a residential burglary in progress,” the department said on its Facebook page.

“The suspect forced entry into an occupied residence and was fatally shot by the sole resident.”

The post added that officers “arrived within minutes, attempted life saving measures, secured the scene and determined there was no threat to the public.”

The Lake Forest Park Police Department, Washington State Police and the Major Crimes Task Force Detectives, the post said, “began conducting a thorough on scene investigation which concluded around midnight. As this is an ongoing investigation, more information will be shared as it becomes available.”

A similar, if briefer, statement was released via the department’s Twitter account.

Today at 1335 hours officers responded to an incident in the Hillside neighborhood of Lake Forest Park. There is a large police and fire presence. There is no danger to the public and the scene is secure. The investigation is ongoing at this time. Thank you for your patience

Few details have been released about the suspect, although MyNorthwest identified him as being a 37-year-old.

“The homeowner says the suspect came at him, so he shot the burglar several times,” MyNorthwest reported.

One of the homeowner’s neighbors, Kelsey Cravens, said the burglary attempt made her feel uneasy.

“Seeing a body in the doorway then all of the people, the cops, the forensics, it was a lot,” said Cravens, who knows the homeowner involved.

“It’s really scary. It freaks me out because we thought this was a really nice, safe area when we moved here.”

She added she was glad her neighbor was OK.

“I can’t wait to see my neighbor and give him a big hug. Thank gosh it wasn’t him,” Cravens said, according to KIRO. “I just want him to know that we’re looking out for him as well and really hope he’s alright, really hope he’s alright.”

There’s a good chance he wouldn’t be were it not for the fact he exercised his Second Amendment right to self-defense.

Yes, the police were there within minutes. Burglars typically act faster than that — and when they break into a home, they don’t like finding the homeowner.

Without a weapon, this guy could have suffered some serious injuries — or worse, depending on what the burglar was armed with himself. That’s why Americans need to get a firearm and get trained in how to use it, particularly given skyrocketing crime rates.

You can’t really give a constitutional amendment a “big hug” like Kelsey Cravens planned to do to her neighbor. You can, however, give our right to bear arms the respect it’s due. Among other things, it ensured “there was no threat to the public” in Lake Forest Park, Washington, last Wednesday.

As Moral Relativism Replaces Christian Values, Americans Will Suffer More Mass Shootings

The devolution of American society began when moral relativism supplanted biblical t***h in education, government, and eventually the family.

The devolution of American society began when moral relativism supplanted biblical t***h in education, government, and the family.

Beginning in the late 1940s with the Supreme Court’s Everson v. Board of Education ruling and onward, our government and educational system have turned their backs on absolute t***h to embrace Marxism, which aims to remove Christianity from all spheres of society.

The moral erosion proves obvious in a recent Barna poll that found, “Millennials are significantly less likely to believe in the existence of absolute moral t***h or that God is the basis of all t***h.”

The study also noted that “Millennials have less respect for life, in general,” and that “they are less than half as likely as other adults to say that life is sacred. They are twice as likely to diminish the value of human life by describing human beings as either ‘material substance only’ or their very existence as ‘an illusion.’”

Millennials’ disregard for life or morality should not come as a surprise. The decreasing number of young Americans who attend church regularly hear from pastors who may not preach biblical t***h. A study by the Cultural Research Center at Arizona Christian University found that only 51 percent of America’s evangelical church pastors hold a biblical worldview.

Armed with this data, I am thankful that recent shootings like those at The Covenant School in Nashville and the school shooting in Uvalde do not occur more frequently.

Gun-control advocates, the media, politicians, and my friends on social media urge increased gun restrictions as the solution to the problem, pointing to Europe and Australia as the golden standard for gun control. Yet, a 2018 New Zealand Herald article showed that despite tighter gun restrictions in these countries, shootings have occurred more frequently than Americans realize.

In 2022, for example, a gunman k**led two and wounded seven people in Denmark, a country with some of the strictest gun laws in Europe, before authorities apprehended him and held him for psychological testing. The article, along with anti-firearm advocates, suggests increased psychological testing as the next solution now that radical gun-control policies have failed.

Not many in Western society honestly address the origin behind increased psychological problems. Western countries increasingly lean on modern mental health mantras rather than dealing with the heart of the matter.

For centuries, firearms have been a standard tool for hunting and home defense in America and Europe. So why the escalation of gun-related massacres throughout the United States and the West over recent decades? Again, I pose the heart of the issue: Moral relativism has replaced the t***h of God’s Word.

As a college writing professor, I read and hear the anti-American and anti-Christian propaganda to which my students have been exposed their entire lives. Basic biblical t***hs such as “treat others how you wish to be treated” and “love your neighbor” have been replaced with mantras like “treat others with kindness unless they offend you” and “love yourself.”

How can a society that raises children devoid of the Christ-centered teachings of Christianity expect anything besides massacres at the hands of miserable, self-centered, and horribly confused individuals like the Uvalde and Highland Park shooters?

Gun Control to Mask Moral Decline
Seven years ago, I attended an active-shooter training hosted by the campus safety department at the community college where I taught in Portland, Oregon. I will never forget the cautionary advice shared by one of the presenters.

“In the event of an active shooter situation, don’t bother calling campus police. Instead, call 911,” he advised. “Campus police at this college are unarmed, so we won’t be able to ensure your safety. Although it will take the local police department much longer to respond to a campus shooting, they will eventually be able to take down a shooter if the need arises.”

Baffled, I asked why campus police are expected to perform their duties unarmed. He explained that several years prior, a college board member felt distressed about campus police carrying firearms. After a swift v**e by the board, my safety as well as the safety of my students and colleagues would be jeopardized henceforth.

After the training, I stayed behind to ask the officer his opinion regarding faculty arming themselves on campus. He encouraged me — off the record, of course — to carry concealed for my own safety and for the safety of my students. That college, like most academic institutions across the country, proclaims itself to be a gun-free zone.

A 2019 CNN article documented 10 years of school shootings, and the majority occurred in gun-free zones. A 2019 study conducted by the Crime Prevention Research Center found that in schools across the U.S. that reportedly allow teachers to carry guns on campus, no deaths occurred as a result of shootings between 2000 and 2018.

Neither the problem nor the solution to school shootings has any correlation with guns or mental health problems that can be treated with medication and therapy, as many scholars and pundits contend. Rather, the problem stems from our nation’s replacement of biblical t***h with moral relativism.

A Symptom, Not the Cause
As a writing instructor for 16 years, I examined thousands of essays, gaining an unusual window into the lives and experiences of my Millennial and Gen Z students. Like an airline passenger who shares intimate details with a stranger, knowing he will never see that passenger again, many of my students confide personal musings and revelations in their writing.

A surprising number of essays I read unwrap students’ deep suffering related to childhood sexual, physical, or emotional abuse. Some of my students suffer the scars of drug- or alcohol-addicted, neglectful parents. Some students are only a few months clean and sober themselves. Several are homeless. And over the past decade, they write increasingly about g****r confusion.

I have detected a common theme throughout their stories. Each of these unique souls is in search of something specific, a need inherent in every human. The agonizing part is that an ancient moral and religious tradition understands their needs, but they do not.

Instead of the moral relativism they have been fed from kindergarten through college, they need to hear t***h. Not the “find your own t***h” nonsense propagated by educators, Hollywood, and hosts on “The View,” but rather the age-old t***h found solely in the Word of God.

The solution is clear: Churches must put away social justice-centered and seeker-friendly sermons and return to expository teaching. Parents must roll up their sleeves and remove the responsibility of parenting from educators and the media by doing the hard work themselves. And v**ers must stop expecting the government to fix a problem created by sinful humanity.

Instead, we must repent and ask God to point our nation to t***h.

Here is an excerpt from Byron Sunderland’s introduction to Benjamin Morris’ magnum opus titled,
“The Christian Life and Character of the Civil Institutions of the United States”.

Sunderland wrote his introduction in Washington DC on April 14, 1863

Read carefully, it's a stunner.

. . . While every period has exhibited the signs of public degeneracy, none in our history presents more fearful proofs of the impiety and obduracy of great masses of people. We have abandoned, in great measure, the faith and the practice of our ancestors, in putting aside from their lawful supremacy the Christian ordinances and doctrines. The natural result is, that we have corrupted our ways in all circles of society and in all pursuits of life. We have become as a field rank with the growth of all vices and heaped with the pollution of mighty crimes.

The rigid training of former times through family government, discipline, and instruction has been greatly relaxed, if not in many cases wholly neglected. Indeed, there are multitudes of parents in the land who from physical and moral causes are totally unfit to have the care of children to whom they have given birth: so that a generation of human beings is growing up in one of the most favored regions of the globe, whose pr********n for the responsibilities of their age and mission has been sadly at fault, and whose precocity in levity, mischief, and insubordination already equals the vitiating examples that are set before them.. The education of the nation is going forward with rapid strides, but it is in a lamentable degree under the auspices of immorality and irreligion, alike in the high and low places of the community.

The unblushing venality and brazen wickedness of a large portion of the conductors of the public press and of the public men of the country have strongly tended to demoralize the nation, to undermine the foundations and destroy the influence of Christian discipline, and to turn the mind and heart of many to infidelity and licentiousness.
The same baleful spirit has moved upon the fountains of human learning and science, and so secularized the philosophy of the times as to have set the high faculty of human reason at variance with the sacred majesty of religion, and to have plunged thousands upon thousands of our young men and women into a sea of splendid sophistry and subtlety and all the ruinous speculation of a proud but vain imagination.

Meanwhile, from the hearts of multitudes the dignity of honest labor and the dictates of a sober and frugal economy have died out, on the one hand increasing pauperism and crime and lending to misfortune the aggravation of human improvidence, and the other fostering habits of false show, and thus increasing the temptation to deception, fraud, peculation, and all the dishonesties of the most high-pampered extravagance and excess. Moreover, the wanton neglect or abuse of our providential blessings, and the unconscious apostasy from from every sentiment of purity and virtue, have served greatly to defile and degrade the mind of a large portion of the community, and ill the centers of population with a low and vulgar herd, who throng the open temples of obscenity and infamy. Thus the materials are prepared for human guilt and wretchedness, whose catalogue of crimes and woes exhausts the power of language to express them.

Beyond all this, political controversy and partisan strife for the reins and spoils of power, conducted without principle, and reeking with abuse, have taken so fierce a form as often to have driven the best men from the arena and left the worst upon the field.

The selfish and the profligate stand forward to control the nominations and e******ns to office, and afterwards gamble with its duties and obligations without shame and without remorse.

Reverend Morris began compiling the materials for his book in 1857.
The Christian Life and Character of the Civil Institutions of the United States was published in 1864.

This happens every day in every state throughout this nation but the mainstream media seldom report on these incidents because it counters their narrative. They like to report A Story, not THE Story.

An Intruder Quietly Snuck Into His House, He Walked Out YELLING AND SCREAMING…

In an era where home invasions and property crimes are all too common, the right to defend oneself and one’s property remains a fundamental aspect of personal security. A recent event in Atlanta, Georgia, emphasizes the importance of this right and questions the consequences faced by criminals when they choose to violate the sanctity of someone’s home.

When an Atlanta homeowner decided to check on his recently renovated property on Arthur Street, he was startled by an unwelcome intruder – 28-year-old Kelvin White. The man had trespassed into the home, apparently believing it was a safe haven. However, he was quickly proven wrong when the homeowner confronted him.

According to Atlanta Police Officer Stephanie Brown, the homeowner “noticed the door was open, and a man came out of the room yelling and screaming.” Fearing for his life, the homeowner drew his gun and fired at White.

The gunshots were enough to send White fleeing from the property. Although he was shot in the leg, he managed to run about a mile before knocking on a door and pleading for water. The resident refused his request, advising him to call 911 instead.

When the authorities arrived, they quickly connected White’s gunshot wound to the home invasion on Arthur Street. He was arrested and charged with criminal trespass – not his first offense. Just three weeks earlier, White had been charged with the same crime when another homeowner found him inside their residence.

Police showed up and quickly realized that Kelvin White was the intruder who had been shot nearby.
While law enforcement recommends homeowners exit their property and call the police in such situations, at least one neighbor supported the gun-wielding homeowner’s actions. Neighbor Jimmy Thompson said, “Ain’t nobody got no business on that property but the homeowner. That’s private property.” He also expressed surprise that the homeowner “didn’t k**l him,” referring to White.

Kelvin White was fortunate that his injuries were not more severe, but this case serves as a cautionary tale for would-be criminals. The crime carries consequences, and those who choose to engage in such activities may find themselves facing painful repercussions. As for the homeowner who defended his property, he will not face charges for exercising his right to protect himself and his home – a fitting conclusion to this harrowing tale.
