Not medical... I am the only child of a Rabbi and I was born late in life to my parents. As far back I can remember, I worked with Papa to t***slate religious writings.... While doing this, humor was not encouraged. And Momma was a stern woman, she spoke only German and she had a set of standards.... I was home schooled for a few years and when I finally went to private school, well the other kids were unkind; I learned all the words for Jews under their guidance. Therefore,, I spent much of my early life distancing myself from other kids and spent time with my books. Then High School.... my books were my best friends. I have friends, but they understand that I am definitely humor impaired! Computer jokes, yes....those I understand.

I have found you to have a marvelous sense of humor when recalling previous posts between you and I.

I feel better knowing that I am not alone. Just be patient with me, if I miss the humor, point it out. It will never offend me!!!

I didn't fit in either. Especially when my parents took me out of the Christian school I'd attended for the last 9 years and stuck me in a public school. Talk about culture shock. I was also more than a year ahead of the other students. I spent the tenth grade learning nothing I didn't already know. Shortly after beginning eleventh grade, I decided to join the Navy. Best decision I ever made.

I answered this on another thread...was called everything from un-American to i***t. But, the answer is John Hansen. The next one was Elias Boudinot, followed by Thomas Mifflin, Henry Lee, John Hancock, Nathaniel Gorham, Arthur St. Clair, and Cyrus Griffin. They performed the job for one year only.... Then the government changed from Articles of Confederation to our current system.

Was I right??????

Seriously, Ginnyt, this time I know something of the subject. You are right, according to my past research. As you said, it has been discussed before on the OPP, along with other 'aspects' of Hansen.

Washington was our first ELECTED President. I don't know how many came before him. I just know that Hansen was the first.

Elected by the popular v**e of the citizenry as per the Constitution. The others were appointed by the v**es of the Congressional assembly under the Articles of Confederation...unless I'm mistaken.

By golly, I think you are correct. It's really sad that most supposedly edumacated people don't even realize this. Most of them have never read the Constitution, let alone studied it. If they had, things might be a lot different now. When I say different, I mean better.
