When asked, I am Roman, but I’m also at home in Episcopal churches because they’re a bit ahead of Rome theologically and socially.

The Christian believer is a repent sinner who has been "imputed," not "infused," with the Righteousness of the God-Man Jesus Christ, the "I Am" of the Scriptures, and, the Second Person of the Triune God. Believe it or not.

Agreed, my friend. Church (any Christian church) was never intended to be a country clubs for saints. Churches are where penitent sinners go to learn how to become more Christlike. It does not matter if I confess my sins to God through direct prayer, or through a pastor, or through a priest. It does not matter when or where I confess. What matters is that I DO confess them, and truly repent, and begin to follow Jesus as closely as I am able. A Christian NEVER stops struggling against sin in his life.
It is not my place to judge, but i DO question the Christianity of churches or individuals who rationalize away the clear sin in their lives, and do not struggle against it. "God will understand and will not condemn" is only half right. God DOES understands, and loves in spite of His understanding, but He will NOT accept known sin in His presence.
To accept unrepentant sin in our life is to choose eternity separated from God.
