Where does this phrase stem from and why was it repeated over and over again?
“Now is the time for all good men to come to the aid of their country”, (Repeat)!!!!!

From the typewriter it came, and to the typewriter it shall return: the phrase was proposed as a typing drill by a teacher named Charles E. Weller. Incidentally, many typing books now use the variant “Now is the time for all good men to come to the aid of their country” instead, because it exactly fills out a 70-space line if you put a period at the end.

Exactly! I learned it in Avionics School, and wasn’t allowed to stop for more than a second. It was a lesson for learning the procedure for radio teletype. If we stopped typing the t***smitter would burn out.
The lesson seems pertinent for today’s political situation.!
