I heard a woman on Fox news say all black people should be given r********ns and be let out of prison because it's s***ery. On that note, I need r********ns for my family members who have been in prison. I need r********ns for my native American ancestors who went to prison or had their land stolen.
It's getting out of hand.

But I do believe putting people in prison is an atrocity. If we survive another century people will be fixed, not made worse.

What is your magic cure? A lot of the countries you mentioned prefer execution to imprisonment.

Riley you are sadly mistaken. People's hearts are so filled with h**e there will be no getting better. It will literally get progressively worse, no respect for each other and no value on human life anymore. The only thing that will make a dent is consequences for bad deeds. And for people to have the threat they will be executed for their bad deeds. It literally used to make people pause before they acted out. To let people go does nothing to turn them around. I don't know how old you are but if you still have 10 years even left you will watch society rot beyond your belief.

We can "fix" them with a lobotomy. If the State does not punish criminals the State will suffer with lawlessness. We need to make prison so tough no one will ever want to go back.

The Scandinavian countries do well. Preventing repeat offences with education?

For profit prisons and judges would fight that.
