So let me see if I got this right. Workers have No right to challenge management and bosses in regards to anything. This includes fair wages for work, no health care, or concern for safety issues. No way to address grievances. In other words Keep your mouth shut and be grateful to have a job and earn a paycheck. if you don't comply there are 10 others who will do what they are told and say thankyou Boss. How is this a way to treat anybody? What's next a return to child labor? All CEOs want is to make a profit for themselves while employees are to be content with what trickles down to them.

You are right. We are going back to the turn of the century with less union protection of workers, and a relaxation of child labor laws. One of the largest food sanitation companies in the United States illegally employed at least 102 children in dangerous jobs cleaning meatpacking and slaughtering plants, the Labor Department said. The company, Packers Sanitation Services Inc., paid a $1.5 million penalty on Thursday, the department said, after an investigation found that children ages 13 to 17 had worked overnight shifts at 13 meat processing plants in eight states, mostly in the South and the Midwest.

The department said the children had used hazardous chemicals to clean processing equipment, including back saws, brisket saws and head splitters. Its investigators learned that at least three minors had been injured while working for the company, the department said.

As a former Union member, I cannot think of anything the Union ever did for me except hold out it's hand for dues and jerk me around when I needed legal help on a matter.

Same here Smedley. The Unions have only themselves to blame for their dwindling influence. If they were doing what they are supposed to do, people would willingly join.

Did you intentionally leave out the Pension ???
Or the seat at the bargaining table getting better wages and benefits.
How soon can you fools forget .
Crying with cake in both hands and still condemning unions.
I personally never complained about the unions I was a member of.
Would you really have been better off not paying your monthly dues of 2 hours pay per month ?
I doubt it .

In this country, you can leave anytime you want to.
In this country you can choose your destiny by abilities you have.
In this country you can confront your "boss" regarding pay. You DON'T need a mouthpiece.
In this country we have OSHA. I don't need to pay dues to a corrupt union boss to look out for my safety.

Bottom line:
Unions are antiquated and unnecessary due to government expansion covering the IMPORTANT SAFETY and HEALTH issues of our time. ..and getting fair pay is an individual responsibility. The market dictates the cost of sk**ls. Don't like it?
Do something else.
I h**e bolsheviks.

Wrong again .
It was Ronald Reagan who k**led union membership .
This was not done for anger at unions , it was done to stop union membership money from being contributed to democratic candidates.
A very large sum of money was being donated to get democrats elected.
But , taadaa !
Ronnie to the rescue.
Air Traffic Controllers union went first.
Paring down union membership to between 3 and 6% instead of the 33% in 1980.
Ending laws that protected Unions and Union members.
Just like Hitler did.

Unions are unnecessary and antiquated .
This is a bullet point right off the corporate desk.
Is worker safety antiquated also ?
How about decent wages comparatively with corporate profit .
How about a cap on CEOs pay ?
The problem here is that corporations will never give better wages or benefits until they absolutely need to.
So , tell me, how long will you be expected to work for them at lower wages or less benefits ?
The states today who have embraced
The Right To Work for less program
Are finding out it was what they said it was in early onset .
It truly is a Right To Work For Less program.
A race to the bottom.
Great for the corporations but bad for the workers.

You are making things up yet again. Surprise

Like it or not, agree with Reagan or not, that air traffic controller strike was illegal since public employees were not allowed to strike. Have democrats fixed any of this? Of course not. No surprise there

One could say the democrats only enabled it all as usual.

Correct. They became more about getting more power and money, less about worker rights
