MJD wants a divorce - So do I

For the first time ever, I find myself agreeing with MTG. As a blue-state resident, I would LOVE a divorce, for many reasons... Here are two.

1. A lot of red states are dead weight. One measurement of this fact is the federal / state balance where 14 of the 28 red states take more from federal resources than they provide. On the other hand, only 1 out of the 22 blue states provide more federal resources than they take.

2. Red states get more representation. What makes blue states, blue are the cities where population density creates challenges on a level that Republicans just can't deal with, which is why the citizens there continue to v**e for Democrats. Another problem that comes with population density is the dilution of representation. Ever since 1910, when Congress stopped expanding and froze at 435 seats, the population booms have spread representation thin.

So, why would any blue-state resident want to keep footing the bill for the red states while continuing to give them more political power? Yes, please... let's get a divorce! Let the red states screw themselves under and when they come asking for help, we can say... "Get in line... behind Mexico."

Hmmm….if one looks at where the food production and energy production sectors are, you may want to consider that little factor.

==========================

The idea that Republicans cannot run a big city is false. Running a big city is a challenge for anyone, and it doesn't help if the city is under A****a/B*M siege or harassed by certain sectors of the city population that simply cannot be satisfied with the status quo and want huge and costly programs to save their bacon. Those who have been trained to regard themselves as victims are especially difficult to pacify even with the infusion of a lot of money. You should try being a mayor sometime.

Some facts.

Agree or disagree that red states would be worse off it they were cut off from federal funding. Smaller government is part of MTG’s agenda.

Political criminality, is rampant in every state...{ & interconnected}...seems to be centralized in the Demoncrat strongholds>

lack of respect for law & order, in all *demoncrat controlled areas...A******n is welcomed, as a way of making money off human indifference, & cold heartedness...no, evilness!

You simply cannot defend this modern-day democracy...it is a total disgrace...& judging from your photo....you have the age that should recognize ...there is no similarity to the democrats of the old days!

Today's demoncrat party is "Lost at sea"...& cannot be rescued, except by a total lobotomy!

They would. The OP is simplistic and pretty silly. Its an illustration of how partisanship is k*****g this country - from both sides. No wordsmithing can change that

Are you referring specifically to the grain produced in the "heartland"? The grain that winds up in silos for potential export because America already has enough gluten and cheap carbs in their diet?" I'm currently living on the East Coast and being a health-conscious type I often find myself in the produce sections of the local stores and guess what I ALWAYS see there? Produce from California. Not Nebraska, not Wyoming or Montana but California. Why? Because food that's actually good for you doesn't come from the heartland, but a lot of it does come from Califonia.

And don't forget, Canada also produces a lot of cheap grain if that's what we still want.

Also keep in mind that red states can produce all the cheap grain they want but they're going to be screwed if they can't sell it. I'm sorry Lily, I know this is the thing that red states think they have over blue states, but it really isn't as simple as you think it is. if MTG were to have her way, the red states would suffer big time because there won't be any federal subsidies to keep red state farmers in business.

California actually has the most abundant farmlands when it comes to all the other foods that the heartland doesn't produce.
