But wars happen and it is necessary to win the war if you get involved in an attack by another country. So we prepare and make sure our enemies, both real (China, North Korea) and imaginary (Russia) know we are ready and fully prepared. It tends to help make peace possible when an enemy looks at our preparedness.
What we have now is a bumbling mentally declining old fool, who plays mild lip service to our real enemies, while trying to be something more then the school yard bully he is, to someone who would rather be a friend to America. Meanwhile his actions have done more to weaken our military capability then actually really prepare us for war or to show enough strength to make aggressors back off. He actually is instigating a war we can't win. At best, both sides loose and the countries in the middle loose BIG TIME.

Those are the current facts.
