Biden wants Gitmo closed before he ends up there.
The Biden administration on Thursday released from Guantánamo Bay a former courier for the al Qaeda terrorist group, two decades after he was arrested for his participation in terrorist plots including a deadly Indonesia bombing.
Majid Khan was released in Belize roughly one year after the end of his sentence. His release from the Guantánamo detention center, where he was a "high-value" prisoner, was delayed because of difficulty finding a country willing to resettle him, the Washington Post reported.
White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre on Thursday described Khan's release as part of the administration's "deliberate and thorough process, focused on responsibly reducing the detainee population" at Guantánamo Bay.

I must be missing your point on this.. while I do not like the man walking around this earth.. He did complete his sentence and more.. If we are to be the nation of t***h and justice as we once were, holding the man for a longer time only makes us appear to be a nation of liars.. what option was available other than denying our own values?

It seems we are on different POV... I commented that the man in question served his time and by American law, that should allow him, in fact , require that he leaves incarceration.. What is your point? Other then you do not like democrats..

A lot of pro and con on that idea.. for myself, I am not certain one way or the other.. if we close, some things may happen with our keeping the presence we have in that area.. if we keep it operating, we have to deal with negative reaction from much of the world..

Didn't watch the SOTU speech. I don't need politicians, or anyone, telling me what to believe. All I know is everyone in my family, other than government employees, is doing much worse now than 2 years ago. My brother had to come out of retirement.
