Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?
(Matthew 6:27, NIV)

Sometimes you feel like you don't want to add another second --- BUT, when you reconsider, you ask the Lord to give you another day. Am I the only one who has ever been there?
He is good, and His mercy endureth forever - it's a good thing it does with what He has to deal with. In the end, we pray He is pleased that we can pick ourselves up, wipe ourselves off, and move forward for another day.
Thank You, Lord.

I believe that God knows which prayers are good for us and those that are bad for us. God's ultimate purpose for our lives is that we all be conformed to the image of His Son. On our best day, we do not yet hold a candle to Jesus because He was perfect in every way.
You are so right about times when we just want to cash in our chips. Elijah is a great example. After a great victory over the prophets of Baal he ran at the threats of Jezebel. He prayed to God saying he was the only one left who cared. God as much as told Elijah, oh stop feeling so sorry for yourself, I still have 7,000 faithful warriors that haven't bowed the knee to Baal.
God knew not to answer Elijah's prayer the way Elijah thought best, but rather He answered Elijah's prayer the way that God knew best. You are so right, it takes no effort to fall and just stay there moaning and crying. It is when we get back up and say Lord, I blew it, but I still want you and need you to show me the way.
God does not bless quitters; our road to sanctification is not a 100 yard dash, it is a marathon.
I go through this over and over, thank God He is our patient Father who never gives up when He knows that we truly want His best.
Thanks for the verse, thanks for the question. Yes I often go through these times, you are not alone..
