Congressional House Representatives Jennifer and McNerney of Californua are leading a little mob to carry on against Newsmax. Call the Capitol Building at 1 202.224.3121, ask for each by name, and leave a message protesting their stance against Newsmax.

Also, whether you ever watched Newsmax or not, the first amendment is under attack once again. If you use AT&T for phone or other communications, Newsmax is calling for all AT&T subscribers to change their account to a competitive mobile provider.

They are lying, their viewers were at an all time low, 500k. Direct dropped them because it made no difference in the ratings when they did it. This is in the wall street news. God forbid we should actually look at the t***h

What are your verified sources that total viewership was down to 500 000? That number is absurd.

The 1st amendment concerns government suppression of free speech. If direct tv wants to suppress anyone they are not violating free speech just choosing their customers. Newsmax can get on cable tv , but direct tv doesn’t want to pay them 16 million per year .

Congress is considering legislation so the likes of Twitter pre-Musk doesn't happen again. Television already has restrictions and regulations (see FCC). Direct TV has become the rally cry for first amendment rights on this limited convoy of speech.

Government regulates speech is the first amendment, it never requires speech. Direct tv is not government and doesn’t have to allow anything it doesn’t want to. It’s a business, making money, and that’s it.

Jacquie, that's a perfect definition of capitalism, if true. The number of subscribers should speak volumes for this cancellation. And also influence a business decision up there!!!

Direct tv is not the one losing subscribers, it’s newsmax. No wonder you are confused, you can’t watch anything but newsmax.

Direct TV is losing subscribers if people are canceling their satellite services and going with DISH, Cable or another streaming service through Amazon Fire or free app on smart phones. Average monthly fee for basic Direct TV is $65/month per customer. Newsmax was only asking for around 8-10cents per customer per month=$1.00 per customer per year. Direct TV pays a lot more than that to other liberal news and information stations that have a lot less viewers than Newsmax. The fact that Direct TV cancelled OAN last year and won't negotiate with Newsmax proves that they have a political agenda against conservative networks.
