When Democrats push for Police Reform, remember this.
In the cities worst for "Excessive Force", Democrats are in Total Control of the offending Police Departments.
Why are they talking about "Police Reform", instead of ENACTING "Police Reform"? DUH!
Wh**ever they are doing, it damn sure isn't working!
The 20 U.S. cities and counties with the biggest police departments have paid over $2 billion since 2015 for alleged misconduct and civil rights violations, finds a Wall Street Journal analysis. The payments have settled allegations of excessive force, wrongful detention and other abuses that sometimes stretch back decades and somtimes resulted in death or permanent injury. New York City, with the nation’s largest police department, has rung up more than $1.1 billion in payouts since 2015, followed by Chicago at $253 million. Los Angeles County paid out more than $238 million. Police departments have faced increased scrutiny over their funding and treatment of minorities since the k*****g of G****e F***d. Some city officials now use misconduct claims to guide police reforms, with the goal of reducing incidents that can spur potentially costly lawsuits.

The problems started when they lowered the
Standards to become a police officer.
Lower test scores suddenly became ok.
No Education degrees were ok .
The State Police are never in the News
They kept their stringent standards.
And consequently they are not in the news for shooting or beating people to death.
Expand State Police qualifications to all local police.
And upgrade the police already on the jobs.

Gee, I wonder which party was responsible for this? Actually I don’t. I know. Your preferred party. Damn you’re dumb.

All NYC police officer training is already "State Certified".
Even you know what problems need fixing, why can't / shouldn't the CITY act tomorrow?
The only thing holding you back is YOURSELVES! Quit trying to pass the buck, while you continue to bleed.
I saw the beating murder of that unfortunate man in Memphis last night on the news. It is still haunting me. today. He was murdered for a traffic violation! As I have said before, policing does tend to attract bullies, and that makes all of us less safe.

Policing does not tend to attract bullies you idi**. Of course bad people are in every occupation. The cops in this case looked more like thugs than the victim. I wonder if the equity/diversity crap you all push had anything to do with the quality of cop in this case?

Wouldn't raising the standards be considered rascist by regressives?
All standards have been lowered over recent years so we don't hurt peoples feelings

Pretty much why we're in the mess we're in.

The problem started when police were put under a microscope and defense lawyers saw to it that criminals have far more rights than victims. Personally, when necessary or required, I want LE to thump on criminals. Criminals need to fear the entire justice system. Today, they have zero respect for the justice system.
