All that's needed to reduce the debt is increase taxes for the wealthy, get rid of special interest loopholes that favor the rich that they do not need, stop subsidizing industries with tax breaks, go after tax c***ters that are not paying the taxes they owe...wallah, no budget deficit.

A constitutional amendment to balance the budget. Republicans are on the right path to not allow pork amendments to bills. The problem is spending in addition to the things you mention. Congress writes the loopholes and subsidizes industries. How often have you written to your representative to complain about these things instead of wasting time here?

Our progressive tax system makes c***ters out of everyone.

The two parties talk about bipartisanship except when it comes to reducing the debt. This is one issue for which bipartisanship should be a no-brainer.

bipartisanship -- politicalese, verb:

1) indicates a desire for both political parties to be reasonable by totally supporting the point of view of the author's party.

Don't GOP legislators also introduce "pork" into their own bills? I am sure they have constituents who want perks for their districts correct?

One would think, if LOGICAL, the taxpayer funds might help more taxpayers if spent on a bridge or on highways.
Need a " walking trail' in Georgia.

Yes, they do. But democrats hold the title of giving names to bills that never come close to what they say they will achieve...Bill Back Better, Affordable Healthcare Act, etc. More like Build Back Broke.
