We buy a couple dozen pairs of gloves, both kids and adult sizes and a few packages of the chemical hand warmers and drop them off at the women's resource center, to hand out when they serve Thanksgiving dinner. Don't forget to take a bag of dog food and one of cat food to the local animal shelter. Most of the shelters also need newspapers, as they use a lot of them. cost you nothing and is really helpful. If you ask your local library they can save them for you for weekly pick up. sometimes people just don't think of those things.
