Network Censorship

I sincerely hope the article I read at the hill.com is incorrect. It is stated that: Fox, CBS, NBC, and ABC are refusing to air the President of the United States' speech in prime time. Apparently, these networks have decided the American people are so stupid, it is up to them to decide what we can know and when we can know it.

Are there really people in this country more interested in some stupid television program than what is happening in their lives? Their excuse is sweeps. I call it censorship plain and simple.

Perhaps, it is time the FCC reminds these i***ts: The Air Waves belong to the people. You are granted a license to broadcast. That license can and should be taken away. It is time to tell these corporations: You Do Not Own the American People, yet.

I would like to hear the President's Speech esp. as it relates to immigration. I really think this is more important than some poorly written television program.

It takes a special denseness to even suggest that the major networks are anything but friendly to Obama. Congratulations on being special

Of course there are. The speech will be carried by some stations. I guess the people will have to decide they care enough to listen to him. Look , personally I think they should all carry the speech because of the subject matter. I will not personally watch it. before you call me a hypocrite let me tell you I was taught as a youngster not to waste time talking too or listening too a liar.. This president has proven he is a serial liar.. No point in listening to him.

I think most Americans have come to realize what a waist of time it is to ponder anymore of the Obama's claptrap. The massive walk out on his Maryland speech was an excellent signal of that. When even his Bamaphone recipients take a hike you know his radical story is known and even they aren't buying his B.S. rhetoric. Add everything up. He's failed the people completely. This speech is an act of desperation. The low levels our nation has fallen to is heart breaking.

I agree and, like you, hope the hill.com article is incorrect.

Although the networks have always been for-profit businesses (utilizing, as you point out, the assets of the airwaves that belong collectively to the American people) in the past their news divisions have not been required to be profitable. This at least gave the networks a veneer of civic-mindedness.
Sadly this is no longer true, so they will follow the $$ based on what the American public wants. And that seems to be a plethora of "poor written television programs."

While I also wish the FCC would step in, it is really the American people who are to blame. They prefer infotainment to real journalism, and encourage the networks through their viewing habits.

Yes, we need to FCC to take over those nasty profit seeking networks who fail to properly bow down to the King - our country is in deep trouble because the federal government and the Kind don't have the first and last word on everything and anything.

Isn't it so thoughtful that Obama will issue his executive order for i*****l i*********n on the Mexican holiday known as "Mexican revolution day"?

I've been browsing several sites online and have noticed how classy and humble the illegal Mexicans are. There are many photos online portraying i******s giving "W***e A******ns" the middle finger.

Its funny that the timing of Obama's executive action will meet perfectly with Ferguson's anticipated explosion of violence. Another distraction from Obama's illegal activities? Nah! Innocent liberal angels would never think of doing something like that!

Although it is expected from inside sources that officer Wilson will NOT be indicted on any charges due to the amount of evidence in support of Wilson.

Inside sources say that Brown’s autopsy supported claims that there was a significant altercation at the car prior to the deadly shooting. Judy Melinek, a forensic pathologist in San Francisco, told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch that she didn’t think the autopsy supported claims that Brown was shot while surrendering with his hands up.

Further, a toxicology report also showed that Brown had tetrahydrocannabinol, also known as THC, in his blood and urine.

Those Demoncrats just never give up do they? The endless charade of games employed by liberals was met with strong opposition during our last e******ns, BUT it appears Obama and the demoncrats simply do not give a damn that the American people spoke loud and clear against their agendas.

What's next? Where does it end? are we now living under a dictatorship? It appears that we still have a lot of work ahead of us! Impeachment is beginning to sound like a good option for our emperor Obama.

I believe the President is dead wrong on his immigration policy. I believe it is the wrong way for our country to go. I just feel as citizens we have the right to hear his speech when it is given.

Of course he lies. All of Washington lies. We have allowed them to get away with it for so long, they just feel we are to stupid to notice. I would like to hear the speech before all the talking heads get a chance to put their spin on what is said.

My mother constantly told me try to add something nice if you feel you must say something derogatory. The President should never lie to the people. Forgive me Mama.

Are you suggesting that someone is restricting citizens from hearing his speech?

SheWolf-It does not deserve prime time but it will be aired. You can expect to once again be lied to and it would be more appropriate in consort with Chris Matthews, rachel maddow, letterman or stewart.
His speech was written by Al Sharpton, tax evader in chief, so it should really be good. Good Luck America !!!~

Fox news and Fox business channels did carry the speech. The three other networks did not. Their excuse was as you stated, "it's sweeps".
