Borneo pygmy elephants
I was just reading about Borneo pygmy elephants and had to stop because the story is too sad.
Borneo pygmy elephants are threatened by habitat loss and fragmentation, hunting and poaching, and reduced genetic diversity due to their small population size.
As with all elephant species, the demand for ivory has been an ever-increasing threat. Elephants across Africa and Asia have declined as poachers k**l them for their tusks. Recently, demand for their skin has also been ramping up and driving up poaching.

Sailor, you may have opened a can of worms with the pronoun police by referring to these elephants as 'pygmy's'.
