I had just gotten over a week long chest and head cold when this cold snap hit. Now I am back on my liquid cold drugs.

Proud Republican, just when I was starting to really like you, you had to rub it in about the California sunshine. (just kidding) My sister lives in Concord, Ca. and she does it all the time. The high temp here in north central Wisconsin has not been above zero in three days. -10 again this morning, but the wind has died down a lot and the sun is shining. Actually, the scene is quite beautiful The trees still have a lot of ice on them from the freezing rain of a week ago and the sun reflecting on it looks like trees full of diamonds. The wind piled snow in a lot of unusual patterns and a few years ago a day like this would have found me up on the ski hill enjoying every minute of it. Those days are over and now it's all I can do to carry in enough firewood to keep the wood stove burning.
And I look forward to your uplifting and patriotic posts. Keep on keeping on and have a vrry Merry Christmas.

We often tease my sister, telling her that the California sun causes brain damage. Apparently you have had sense enough to stay in the shade long enough to avoid that problem.

Thanks. Day to day it changes. Yesterday I had a 101 fever. To day it's a raw throat, but the fever broke. All today one minute I feel great, the next minute I'm dying. A few of my close relatives have the same v***s. They tell it is a three weeker, and I'm in week two. It isn't c***d. Thank God we're in a warm up. I lost all of my resistance to cold.
