The nurse came to me and said, it’s so sad, there’s a little leg sticking out. What she meant was out of the girl’s vagina. I had been in the medical student’s lounge when the nurse came in and delivered the sad urgency. I went to the labor room with her & sure enough, there was a leg, no thicker than a pencil sticking out of the young woman’s vagina. The a******n was proceeding apace. The patient was sobbing.

The surgeon had chosen the salting procedure where a highly concentrated solution of salt is injected into the amniotic sac. The fluid within the sac is then more highly concentrated than that in the mother’s body and by a process called osmosis, fluid moves into the sac from the woman’s body to dilute the amniotic fluid, markedly increasing its volume & pressure against the inside of the uterus. This, triggers a labor process that then extrudes the amniotic fluid with the fetus which is, usually, too poorly developed to survive.

To the fetus, the highly concentrated salt solution feels much more painful than ocean salt water on an open eye. It also feels it all over its body. It moves to wriggle away but can’t because the concentrated salt solution fluid is everywhere. When the fetus was finally extruded from the young female’s vagina, she was still sobbing. She was sobbing when she left our floor.

I have treated numerous women, post-a******n. Every last one had long term guilt; years and sometimes decades later. Many had turned to drugs and alcohol & required counseling. Guilt has been so pervasive that Rachel’s Vineyard has been founded to help them heal. It has locations in every American state and numerous countries to a total of more than 375.

Induced a******n, which is what we usually refer to as a******n, is different from a spontaneous a******n which is what the public usually calls a miscarriage, a process which is natural but also a traumatic event for the mother. The spontaneous a******n leaves the woman with a sense of sadness but little of the guilt of the induced a******n.

Spontaneous a******n often occurs due to fetal malformation, or hormonal factors and sometimes due to a uterus which is incapable of containing a fetus until natural birth. The cervix is often not strong enough to withstand the increased pressure from the amniotic sac and the pregnancy ends as the cervix fails.

The Orwellian named pro-choicers have tried to minimalize the effects of a******n. (Orwellian since the choice of the target of the procedure, the fetus, is never sought.) In both cases, the woman is left to deal with the emotional debris. Their tears testify to the t***h they know.

Pro-choicers have tried to dismiss that t***h. They have tried to categorize it with simple tooth extractions but it’s far more than that. Some a******n groups have even planned to open abortuaria in shopping malls. (Just try to imagine ads for them.)

(That entire pro-choice nomenclature leads to an interesting exercise in speculation. Was there a choice when the woman entered into the activity that led to the pregnancy? If not, it was rape. If there was a choice, then the participants are responsible for the logical possibility of pregnancy. This is ultimately why women are the guardians of a society’s moral code. (I dismiss completely the argument of some women’s libbers that all sex is rape. l give women more credit than that.) )

Some pro-a******ners have gone to the extent of stating that a fetus has no rights until it is born. This, despite the fact that every single system, heart, lungs, brain, spine, etc., is developed in a fetus well before the 42 weeks of gestation. If the fetus has no rights, how does one reconcile that with the fact that in many jurisdictions, the death of a fetus by an injury such as a motor vehicle accident can lead to homicide charges against the culpable party?

Very few animals other than homo sapiens abort their fetuses, some rats, domestic horses and orcas but only in certain circumstances such as the presence of a strange male and in food shortages. It is almost non-existent otherwise and thus, scientifically, pro-choicers should answer why do we. Of course, they never do and are never asked to.

Interruption of any natural process is fraught with problems. Pregnancy is accompanied by many hormonal changes that prepare the woman’s mind and body for the birth. Discontinuation of any pregnancy leaves a hormonal residue with huge emotional implications. That’s never acknowledged nor discussed by the pro-choicers nor is the implicit result of the widespread performance of a******n being the extinction of the species.

We are all destined for God’s ultimate court of Judgment. None of stands above anyone else in that court. Progressives and pro-choicers reject that. They believe that their pseudo-intellectualism entitles them to be the arbiters of the world. They will be confronting some ultimate t***hs in that ultimate court. Among the witnesses demanding an answer will be those 64 million fetuses whose destruction they endorsed.

Progressives and liberals, who constitute most of the pro-a******n camp, claim to be on the side of science. A******n is a violation of natural law and thus opposed to science. No amount of rationalization about choice can change that.

And just whom have we lost among the victims? A Gregory Hines, a Jonas Salk for AIDS, an Elvis, a Leonard Bernstein, an Edward Hopper, a Mark Twain or... ?

Under German National Socialism, Soviet Socialism, s***ery and a******n, classes of citizens are denied their rights to life, liberty & the pursuit of happiness. How a society treats its citizens Is a barometer of its deterioration. When a society countenances a******n, there are no barriers to its self destruction and our society will eventually destroy itself.
