Youve got to hand it to the Democrats. They dont compromise. Instead of moving to the middle after being stomped on in the latest e******n, they are embracing the far, far Left. Thats where their real activist base is found.
While many in the GOP are running away from their real activist base in the Tea Party, the Democrats are embracing what is now the New Democrat Party. The Party of John F. Kennedy and Hubert Humphrey is dead. It died in the back seat of Ted Kennedys car. If the Democrats were willing to keep Ted Kennedy in office after the death of Mary Jo Kopechne, then they were willing to sell off what was left of their soul to the highest bidder.
Personally, I think moving further left is political suicide, but youve got to give the Democrats credit for being loyal to what they have become as a party.
I think they believe that their base did not turn out because there was the perception among the Partys liberal base that it had been betrayed. The Democrats refused to openly to embrace The Occupy Movement.
Elizabeth Warren is the ultra-liberal Senator from Massachusetts. One would think that after the drubbing the Democrats got on E******n Day that they might have reassessed their partys position. They have, and they have decided to go all Che Guevara on America:
