What happened to the Red Wave? Be honest was it Row Vs. Wade, Was it Trump handpicking poor candidates?
I admit that I am surprised that the Red Wave turned into a little trickle.
Could it be America saying no to Trump's GOP? Is it time for the Paul Ryan's and Scott Walkers to get back in Politics again Heck even Evers won in Wi. How surprised are the righties and the Lefties out there.

Very disappointed but not totally surprised. Roe v wade had some impact, or, rather, red states passing stupid 6 week bills or worse had an influence. Conservative Republicans running on total or near total bans had some influence.

I do think it has more to do with Trump. Trumps involvement was all over this midterm e******n and Democrats successfully ran against Trump, again. People still like Trump's policies but not his persona. Trumps successes before the p******c and DeSantis' win in Fl shows that. We do not need the wishy washy Ryan, Collins, Murkowski or Romney in the GOP. Republicans need a candidate with Trump leadership, tenaciousness and involvement without the Trump persona. Someone with the strength to stand up to the swamp and corruption without the childishness. It's time for Trump to step aside. The Democrats and Trump himself have succeeded in making him to toxic.

Strycker I agree with you one most points. However I do believe that you will see some more Moderate GOP Candidates in 2024.

Yes, the Democrats have been very successful at running against Trumps personality. Didn't I already imply that?

Trump is the only president in my lifetime that took the job of Chief Executive Officer of the country and actually did the job. He was acutely aware of every issue and applied his leadership on ever large decision we faced. Can't claim that about Biden. He is not involved in any decisions. He can't even find his way off a stage anymore. Somehow you Democrats seem to think a person who is willing, capable and actually doing their job is a bad thing. Even worse, democrats have been convinced that a President actually doing the job is an authoritarian and a f*****t and should be feared.

Unfortunately more moderate Republicans, historically, have allowed Democrats to run over them. Admittedly, through most of the 20th century the Republicans had little choice. These moderates have done nothing for the last 110 years but allowed the establishment of an ever larger overreaching central government. All leading to the erosion of the Constitution and our rights. In my lifetime there has never been a congress that has ever v**ed against a bigger central government. The only question has ever been how much more.

Of course the "Red Wave" predicted by some was vastly overblown. History shows that the balance in the House has swung both ways but never got too far out of balance which is probably good for Democracy. The big gain that Republicans had in the 2010 e******n brought a lopsided Democrat advantage back into balance. They gained 64 seats. A look at the slim Dem balance now makes it unlikely that a big change is imminent. It would take only a few flips to get the advantage back.

Good comment. You're right, most Americans don't want a super majority, things can get to out of wack. Life will go on as usual.
