Psalms.
My apologies to the original poster, I have forgotten who he/she was. Also my thanks for the original post, it was inspiring.
I think it would be beneficial to repeat that thread of a few years back where several of us read/studied a Psalm a day...and then shared/discussed wh**ever insight/questions we may have:
Psalm 1:
1 Blessed be the man that walketh not in counsels of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
4 The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.
5 Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgement, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.
6 For the Lord knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.
I think we will find that then as now; the Psalms speak to issues/choices...and the consequences of our choices that are happening NOW. I guess you could say it is a built-in feature of an universal t***h that it stands the test of time/are as applicable/pertinent/relevant/significant as always.
