proud, As a former teacher, I can tell you of a few problems; Teachers are against the banning of books. Proposed books are ordered by professional educators to meet the demands of the curricula. Parents want to ban literature that may have sex in it. I will tell you right now that I never taught a high school or even middle school student that didn't watch porn videos in a devise. They make Peyton Place seem like a clergyman's sermon. Social studies, and history teachers h**e the idea of leaving important history out of the curricula because it might offend somebody. Am I supposed to leave out teaching about s***ery because it may offend a white child . I guess we will not be allowed to teach about n**i Germany because it may offend a German parent.
We study history because in part we want to avoid the mistakes we made in the past. History is History. It has glorious moments like the writing of the US Constitution, and the signing of the document that ended WW11 with Japan, to selling computers to n**i Germany to facilitate the holocaust, and selling fellow human beings as s***es for well over two hundred years.

Books are not ‘banned’. Some books are not appropriate for children to have access to in a public school. If the parents want their children to read a particular book, they are free to do so.
