It wouldn't surprise me if Russia or China installs their missiles in Cuba or South America. I'm glad slojoe wasn't POTUS during the Cuban missile crisis in the 60's, we would all be dead by now.

nwtk2007, Nuclear war is a terrible and scary prospect. Putin is a thug, plain and simple. The problem is where do we stop him? Ukraine? Poland, the Baltic states? how about Spain, or maybe New York. Personally, I don't think he's that crazy, but you never know. The policy that Biden is following is to give Ukraine what it needs to fight the Russians, but not to attack Russia with NATO weapons. That alone puts them at a disadvantage.
If the Russians decide to use tactical nukes, it would almost certainly mean the end of Russia as a regional power in Europe. The response from the West would be overwhelming, and crushing for Russia. I don't know what sanctions would be placed on Russia, but they would be extremely harsh.
I hope and pray that the oligarchs, and perhaps the generals would get rid of him before the nukes start flying. We have our prestige on the line, as well as our national security. We have to act, or no small nation will ever feel in control of its own destiny again.

The entire scenario is based upon the people of the donbas and Crimea wanting to break from Ukraine; they are ethnic Russians, have v**ed to do so more than once now, and Putin has pledged to help them. Add to that Putin's belief that the west and US are santanic in their l*****t liberal woke L***QRST ways and you have a formula for some serious actions.

I personally say we take the people of the donbas and Crimea at their word, as well as Putin's and let them join Russia. Zelensky has no reason to refuse other than i***tic p***e and their h**e for all things Russian. At that point, we can see where this goes. NATO needs to back off but stay ever ready. Other countries don't have to be IN NATO for us to defend them should the need arise. That is all politics.

Ukraine has all they need without keeping the donbas and Crimea just to persecute those who live there. We certainly have nothing to gain by helping them either!!

Be careful! Not saying you are wrong but you are believing the media from the Russian perspective. Last I saw the Donbas region was 45% ethnic Russians. If we aren't getting the t***h from our media, do you really believe we are getting the t***h from theirs? No matter which way this goes Putin is a bad guy IMO. Russia is a threat to the U.S.. Always has been. Mainly because an un hinged tyrant can run that country. Not saying that's Putin, but it is a possibility. I'm sure, like us, they have checks and balances. At least I hope they do.
