You're so right, Jim. It may not have started under Trump but Trump brought the Deep State out into the open, including the FBI. They became so alarmed that Trump was in power and knew what he intended to do that they simply couldn't stand by and see their game ruined. Trump didn't weaponize the FBI - Comey and his boys did. It carried through for the H****r B***n laptop scandal when the FBI sat on the story, aided by their willing accomplices in the media, to help insure that Biden won the e******n. I say Comey did but you know he wasn't the prime mover for hiding this story, but it's a sure thing that Trump wasn't on Comey's most favored person list. My bet is that if Trump is nominated again that we will see more of the same, causing a real push to turn out Trump-hating v**ers to try to stop him again. Presents quite a dilemma for Trump supporters - do you risk another defeat or risk having more of the disaster we've had for the previous 2 years.

There is no constitutional provision for a federal police force. The FBi arose out of the ashes of the Bureau of Investigation that was formed to investigate a corrupt land deal in the Dakmotas & Montana.
It's most famous or infamous director, J. Edgar Hooved, ruled it with an iron hand but he did keep in under tight control. When he died, I knew it would become a political tool but I, in my worst nightmare, I never feared it would become this bad.
It cannot be reformed. Cleaning out the dregs will just result in their replacements by new ones. Abolish it.
