The asteroid that was hit was in an orbit that was not threatening to earth. It was a test to see if we could in the future. change the orbit of an earth threating asteroid by slaming into it. On YouTube, I saw the collision. It was awesome! We should hear soon if it was a sucess!
It will become just another political weapon...depending on which states may be in the line of fire.
