I personally think that this is a highly delusional and over inflated number...the term christian nationalist designation applying to the extreme MAGA end of the base...I'm not sure the broad MAGA extremist group as a whole are considering themselves christian nationalists, the garden variety w***e s*********ts as an example.

80%, no...the danger here is calling out the slime and them inferring the rest of the base is being called out too, which it is not.

Democrats consider themselves as either Catholic 23% or Protestant 42%, acording to wilkepedia. Pretty far from what you said.
I couldn't find any stats on the percent of Americans who consider themselves as Christian Nationalists, but the Pew Center did a survey in 2021 on related beliefs. Its worth a look. Christan Nationalists probably aren't over 20%
