On the European Gas Crisis

The European Gas Crisis boggles my mind. How in the world could most of the European Countries be so foolish as to cut off their nose to spite their face. It made absolutely no sense to me why they would sanction Russia, knowing that so much of their energy needs and the lifeblood of their economies are dependent upon cheap Russian gas sold on favorable long term contracts vs. expensive gas purchased on the open market. Even if they were naive into not believing that Russia would cut them off for supplying military aid to Ukraine, they now know otherwise. So, the question becomes why not back away from that insane policy? Why double down and start implementing price caps, which will be even more destructive in the long run.

You DO know that Russia is also a fledgling democracy. Neither one ranks very high on the democratic index.

My " Pea Brain ". You misstate things as if you do it intentionally or you are not very smart. If Europe had not done g***n e****y they wouldn't be in trouble now. I dare you to for once argue details. They shut down nuclear and coal fired plants in favor of g***n e****y which does not work and made up the difference with Russian Gas.
