The thing I worry about the national debt is that it will become so burdensome that it will interfear with government programs like Sicial Security. The last time anyone did anything about reducing the debt was Clinton.

Wasn't really Clinton. The House writes spending bills. The Republican Congress forced Clinton to sign on. At least Clinton would work with the other side. The biggest problem with the debt and rising interest rates is we can't bring in enough to pay just the interest. If our debt gets downgraded we are on a roll downhill we can't stop.

The question of this thread is this, since some 90% of current gov revenue goes to paying interest on the debt, who is getting that money cause that's an awful lot of money going out for nothing in return.
